Another Big East classic takes place Tuesday evening when the Georgetown Hoyas travel to Hartford and take on the UConn Huskies.
UConn will be favored to win at home here.
Georgetown Hoyas
The defending Big East Tournament champions are in trouble early after taking three straight losses to open conference play. The Hoyas lost on the road to St. John’s in their last time out after a big game from conference-leading scorer Julian Champagnie.
Freshman guard Aminu Mohammed posted his fifth double-double of the season last time out. He scored 20 points against a tough San Diego State team, 23 in the win over Syracuse, and 21 in their last time out against TCU. He’s leads the team in scoring (13.8) and rebounding (8.6).
Citadel transfer Kaiden Rice has been one of the best marksmen in college basketball for three seasons, and he hit a career-high 10 three pointers against UMBC, scoring 34 points along the way. Rice is second on the team with 13.5 ppg.
Dante Harris has looked well running the offense this year after playing 30 minutes per game as a freshman. The 6’0 guard is averaging a well-rounded 13.1 ppg, 3.6 rpg, and a team-leading 4.9 apg.
Hometown guard Donald Carey brings even more experience to the lineup, and he’s posting an identical line of 12.7 ppg, 5.3 rpg, and 3.5 apg.
UConn Huskies
UConn enjoyed a strong start to the season, picking up notable non-conference wins over VCU, Auburn, and St. Bonaventure. The Huskies began Big East play with a pair of wins and losses, and they picked up a home victory over St. John’s last time out.
Dan Hurley’s unit is one of highest scoring offenses (80.3 ppg), and strongest rebounding (42.1 rpg) squads in the nation.
R.J. Cole leads the team in scoring after getting off to a hot start. The 6’2 guard scored 26 points against VCU, and he’s leading the team in scoring (16.4) and assists (4.9)
Strong rebounding guards Tyrese Martin and Andre Jackson join him in the backcourt, both averaging 6.5 and 7.7 rpg respectively.
Adama Sanogo is really coming into his own this season. The 6’10 sophomore has been dominant, and he posted a remarkable 26/18 line in the win over St. John’s. Sanogo scores 15.9 ppg, while leading the team in rebounding (7.8).
Longtime Husky Isaiah Whaley remains in the fold, and the fifth-year senior is averaging 7.1 ppg and 4.9 rpg.
CBB Betting Trends:
- GT is 4-8 ATS in their last 12 road games.
- UConn are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games.
- Over is 5-2 in Huskies last last seven games.
Free Georgetown Hoyas vs. UConn Huskies NCAAB Prediction: GT/UConn to go Over
This is another lofty margin we should approach with a small amount of caution.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Over 143.5
UConn is going to win this game, but if St. John’s and Butler have shown u anything over the past few nights, is that Big East basketball is competitive from top to bottom. They all fight, and they all thrive as the underdog ATS. Points should be scored, and I’ll sway with the total here.
Take the over for this Big East game Tuesday night.
