Furman is favored is win by six on the road here.
Furman Paladins
Furman has been really consistent this year, and they come into this one winners of eight of their last ten games. The Paladins took care of VMI Wednesday, hitting 14 threes en route to a 79-64 win.
Furman scores a lot of points (78.2 ppg) and shoots really well from deep (39.4%).
Senior Mike Bothwell leads the charge. The 6’3 guard has scored 15 points or more in nine of his last eleven games, and he scored a season-high 26 points in win over Western Carolina.
Bothwell led the Paladins in scoring last season, and he’s on pace to do so again this year, averaging 15.8 ppg.
Fellow senior Jalen Slawson has thrived in a bigger role this season. The 6’7 forward has locked in since the start of conference play, and he scored 21 points in the win over VMI. Slawson’s averaging 15.4 ppg, 3.7 apg, and a team-leading 7.6 rpg.
Alex Hunter leads the team in minutes (33.5) and brings even more experience to the lineup. The 5’11 senior has hit two of more threes in each of the last nine games and he’s third on the team in scoring at 14.6 ppg.
Conley Garrison caught fire against VMI, scoring 21 points and hitting four threes for the third time in four games.
Mercer Bears
Fordham opened Atlantic 10 play with a pair of wins, but they loss to Richmond at home on Tuesday. 31 points from UR guard Jacob Gilyard proved to be too much for the Rams, and they’d fall 83-70.
The Mercer offense revolves around senior Felipe Haase. The 6’9 big double-doubled against Samford last time out, marking his fourth of the season. He leads the team in scoring (15.2) and rebounding (6.1), while averaging a solid 3.1 apg.
Jalen Johnson came in with a lot of experience and he’s finally found consistent playing time at Mercer. The 6’6 guard scored a season-high 30 points in the win over VMI, going an impressive 8-8 from deep. Johnson is second on the team in scoring at 14.7 ppg.
Juniors James Glisson III and Kamar Robertson round on the starting five, with the former scoring 11.4 ppg and grabbing 5.3 rpg.

Free Furman Paladins vs. Mercer Bears NCAAB Prediction: Furman to Cover
Furman has a real shot to win the Southern Conference this season due to a potent three-point attack that should carry them again here.
4* Free CBB Betting Pick: Davidson -10.5
Mercer may not be able to keep here. Furman likes to shoot, and if those shots start falling early, the Bears could be in for a long night. With four guys capable of scoring 20 points any night, the Paladins are going to be a team to watch as March rolls around. I love them at this margin.
