The 18 – 3 unranked Rams are still looking for national respect although the last 7 games of the regular season will be the ultimate proof of the body of work of this Colorado State program. The Rams are favored at home and this is a place that Colorado State has only lost once from 12 outings at Moby Arena this season.
The Rams will take on Boise State next and they will also finish the regular season against the Broncos at home on March 5. Those two affairs along with the rematch against Wyoming will also tell us a lot about the worth of this program down the stretch. The Rams are coming off back-to-back wins against San Diego State and Nevada entering tonight’s matchup with the Bulldogs for this only meeting scheduled for these two this season.
The Bulldogs have been a great cover team this year beating the number on 15 of their 22 outings this year. Fresno State has taken wins in 3 of their last 5 games but those losses came against Wyoming and Boise State as well.
That only makes sense because everything has gone right for the Cowboys and Broncos all season long. While those two programs battle for the top seed for the MWC tourney with a 9 – 1 conference record respectively, this is still a big game between a pair of top-5 programs in the Mountain West standings.
Fresno State Bulldogs
The Bulldogs were on the brink of a 3-game win streak last time out against Wyoming, but the Cowboys ended up taking a slim victory, 61 – 59. The loss left the Bulldogs with their second home loss of the year but they are still in the top-5 of the Mountain West standings by themselves with a 6 – 4 conference record.
Fresno State will get one more crack at Wyoming on the final day of the regular season and they will also play a home and home with the Aztecs down the stretch. The Bulldogs and Aztecs are trying to catch Colorado State for the 3-seed headed towards the MWC tournament. Fresno State will need a strong finish to maintain any hope of a post-season invite to any of the tournaments we’ll have this year. Wyoming and Boise State are likely headed to the NCAA Tournament but an at-large bid will be tough to find for the Bulldogs should they go flat down the stretch.
In the loss to Wyoming last time out, Orlando Robinson probably blames himself for the loss after the night he had against Wyoming. Robinson barely found 11 points in the loss and Isaiah Hill kept this team in the game all night with his 25 point effort. The two of them have been guilty of carrying the load all season long whether together or when one is struggling, but the two are certainly going to need a strong finish to the regular season.
Robinson is still averaging a team-leading 18.7 PPG and Hill is a good distance behind him taking in just over 10 PPG for second on the depth chart. They are the only dudes averaging double-digits for the Bulldogs and Anthony Holland struggled to produce in the loss himself. Holland was a 4 & 4 guy and that is far below what he normally produces on a nightly basis. His game better get lifted as the trio will have the biggest influence on how this season ends up.
Colorado State Rams
It is not often that an 18 – 3 program isn’t in the top-25 rankings but the Rams have pulled it off this season. The weak schedule is surely to blame but as I Said this run to the end of the regular season will end up being the true test of what this program is worth. Overall, hey, the schedule is what it is and it has them up in the locker room which is still big. No one can do anything about who they have gotten to play in 2021-22, so they have just lined up and won 18 of 21 games and scoring points along the way.
The Rams rank 7th in the country converting 49.3% of their FG attempts and Colorado State gets to the line and makes their free throws. Colorado State ranks 8th in the land making 78.8% of their shots from the charity stripe and David Roddy is an animal!
Roddy leads the Rams dumping nearly 20 points on folks every night and he was a terror for Nevada to deal with last time out as he came away with 29 points and 8 boards in the 82 – 72 win over the Wolfpack. That was the 9th time this year that Roddy has been a 20+ point guy and it was the third straight game he’s done it as well. If you wondering who that dude is that just seems to be able to take over at times for the Rams, just expect it to be #21 again because the dude can ball his brains out.
Kendall Moore had a big night with 22 points but he stuffed the shit out of the boxscore too. Do you see the numbers for the game from Moore? How about 22 points going 7 of 12 from the floor while converting 4 of his 7 3-attempts along with 4 steals, 4 rebounds while going 4 for 4 from the line, STAT STUFFER!
Another thing that may shock you is that the Rams can go 9 deep and if someone gets in trouble this season we see dudes all around this bench picking up the slack. Coach Medved has given 10 guys 11+ minutes a night on average so he is not one to shy from making a substitution which is rare today.

Free Fresno State Bulldogs vs. Colorado State Rams NCAAB Betting Prediction:
I do believe that 5.5 points are just too many to offer so I expect Fresno State to cover this game and that total is rather juicy too, isn’t it? We need 130 points to see this Over get crashed in a game where I expect some scoring to go down! Sold!
