Fordham Rams
Fordham opened Atlantic 10 play with a pair of wins, but they’ve hit a wall, dropping six of their last seven games, including four in a row on he road.
Darius Quesenberry and Antonio Daye Jr. have given the Rams solid guard play every time out. Quesenberry, a Youngstown State transfer, scored a career-best 36 points in the loss to Davidson and he leads the team in scoring (17.7)
Daye Jr, an FIU transfer, was averaging an identical 16.8 points per game prior to going down with an injury. His absence has been glaring for the Rams, who are 1-6 since Daye Jr.’s injury.
Chuba Ohams has finally been able to stay healthy in year six, and he’s been dominant up front for the Rams. The 6’9 forward from Bronx leads the A-10 in double-doubles, and he posted a monster one in the win over Duquense (14/16).
Ohams averages 13.7 ppg and a conference-leading 11.1 rpg.
St. Bonaventure Bonnies
St. Bonaventure jumped out to a 8-3 start during non-conference play, picking up victories over Marquette, Boise State and Clemson along the way. They’ve traded each of their last six games, struggling with inconsistency while flirting with promise along the way. SBU wasn’t able to take down Richmond on the road last time out, losing 81-76.
Osun Osunniyi anchors a veteran, senior filled starting unit, that has played together for more than three seasons. The 6’10 big had his best game of the season against Duquense, scoring 21 points and grabbing a season-high 17 boards. Osunniyi is up to 10.4 ppg and 7.7 rpg on the season.
Jaren Holmes, Kyle Lofton, and Dominick Welch are names we need to remember with March Madness approaching. There aren’t many teams in the country that can match the production the Bonnies get from their backcourt.
Holmes might just be one of the best players in the country. The 6’5 senior is extremely versatile, and has the ability to score from all three levels. He double-doubled in wins over Marquette and Boise State, and he posts strong lines of 14.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg, and 3.8 apg.
Lofton has a string on the offense, leading the team in assists (5.5). The 6’3 guard can also fill it up, as he scores 13.8 ppg.
Welch is the true definition 3-and-D, as over 70% of his shots have been threes. The 6’5 guard has hit three or more threes in each of the past three road games, and he’s averaging 11.6 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
Jalen Adaway has elevated his game since coming over from Miami-Ohio. The 6’5 guard double-doubled against UConn, and he’s leading SBU in scoring (15.5), while grabbing 6.6 rpg.
CBB Betting Trends:
- St. Bonaventure is 7-4 ATS in their last 11 games.
- Fordham is 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games.
- Over is 4-1 in the Rams last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record.
