On Wednesday, December 23rd, the Washington Wizards will tip-off versus the Philadelphia 76ers in the first match of the 2020-21 season for both clubs.

This move reunites Wizards coach Scottie Brooks who coached Westbrook in Oklahoma City prior to coming to the Wizards where the two had a strong relationship.
The club also re-signed 3-point sniper Davis Bertans, got a great draft pick in Deni Avdija, and added Robin Lopez.
Heading into the season opener sophomore Rui Hachimura is questionable as he deals with bilateral eye conjunctivitis.
Philadelphia 76ers
Arguably, the biggest moves made by the Sixers organization this offseason were to their front office and coaching. First, the franchise jumped on adding Doc Rivers as head coach to replace the fired Brett Brown.
Next Philly grabbed Daryl Morey to run the front office with hopes of him bringing his analytics knowledge to the team.
Morey immediately went to work adding 3-point shooting. The executive traded Josh Richardson to Dallas for Seth Curry and more importantly got out from under the Al Horford contract in exchange for Danny Green and Terrance Ferguson.
Philly had signed Horford to a ridiculous four-year $109 million contract but worse, his fit never worked alongside big man Joel Embiid.
The key moving forward will be for Doc to maximize the 76ers offensive potential particularly when Embiid and Ben Simmons share the court.
That said, there are also rumors of the disgruntled James Harden potentially landing in Philly with Simmons heading the other way.
