This Thursday Night match-up will see the Washington Wizards take on the Detroit Pistons. These teams have met twice this season and the Wizards have won both meetings by an average of 15 points
Washington Wizards
The Wizards are easily one of the worst teams in the NBA. They did win their last game over the Knicks 121-115, but have still yet to reach double-digit wins. Before that last win, they had lost three games in a row.
The weird part is that they have one of the best scoring offenses in the league. They average 117.5 points per game, which ranks 3rd. They also shoot the ball at 46.6%, which is 9th in the league. From the three-point line, they shoot 36.6%, which is the 6th best.
In terms of scoring production, the Wizards are led by Bradley Beal. He is averaging 28.3 points per game. After Beal, the scoring averages really drop off with the second best scorer, Davis Bertans, who averages 15.4 points per game. The Wizards do have five other players that average double-figures, so they have a very balanced offensive attack.

Defense however is the area where the Wizards are horrible. They have the absolute worst scoring defense in the NBA, allowing 121.7 points per game. Teams also shoot an average of 49.3%, which is last and 38.2% from the three-point line, which ranks 28th.
The key for the Wizards will be slowing down the post players for Detroit. They must win the rebounding battle or this is going to turn into a blowout.
Detroit Pistons
The Pistons are a team that is no doubt having a very poor season. They just lost to the 76ers 125-109. They are now on a five-game losing streak.
Offensively, the Pistons have not been able to find enough production. They are averaging 108.4 points per game, which ranks 21st in the league. The strangest part is they are a top 10 shooting team at 46.7% and the 3rd best three-point shooting team at 37.8%.
Leading the way for this team is Andre Drummond. However, he is averaging just 18 points per game. They do have have Derrick Rose, who averages 16.5 and Blake Griffin, who averages 15.8. They even have Luke Kennard, who also averages 15.8, yet it still has not been enough to help them consistently win.
Note that Blake Griffin is dealing with the flu and is listed as questionable. Another notable injury is Luke Kennard, who has been ruled out for Thursday with knee soreness.
Defensively, the Pistons sit basically in the middle of the pack. They are allowing 110.6 points per game. However, during their current losing streak, they are allowing 120.6 points per game.
They do allow teams to shoot 47.2% from the field and 36.9% from the three-point line. For the Pistons to have any chance, they must be able to slow down Bradley Beal. If Beal has a down game, I am not confident in the rest of the Wizards to produce enough points, therefore it could lead to a Pistons win.
