Utah Jazz
The Jazz had to hold off the Magic in the fourth quarter in Salt Lake City on Tuesday, 109–102 the final score.
Bojan Bogdanovic and Donovan Mitchell scored thirty points apiece.
Bogdanovic, Joe Ingles and Rudy Gobert played thirty-seven minutes each for Quinn Snyder; Mitchell and Royce O’Neal played thirty-five.

O’Neal came off the bench. The starting point guard was Mike Conley Jr., who finished with seven points, six assists and no rebounds in nineteen minutes.
In 2015/16, his ninth professional season, Conley shot under .450 from inside the three-point arc for the first time in his career. He missed it by a tenth of a percent: .449.
He bounced back the next year, then shot .440 in 2017/18 before bouncing back again in 2018/19.
This season, he’s shooting .365 on two-point shots and his effective field goal percentage, a figure that accounts for three-pointers being fifty percent more than a two, is the lowest of his career despite a three-point percentage in line with his career average.
Memphis knew Conley was in decline and it expedited its rebuilding process by shedding the last two years of his massive contract. Conley is already guaranteed $34.5 million next season in the final year of the deal.
He has been, and will continue to be, a bigger burden in Utah, which could have been the team to challenge the Lakers in the Western Conference had it allocated its resources alternatively in the offseason.
Atlanta Hawks
The Hawks gave up 143 points in a loss to the Knicks on Tuesday.
New York had just returned from a west coast road trip that started poorly with a blowout in Portland but finished relatively well with two victories (Warriors, Kings) and a narrow loss to Denver.
Five guys scored between seventeen and twenty-seven points for the Knicks: Mitchell Robinson (22), Kevin Knox (17), Julius Randle (17), Marcus Morris (22) and RJ Barrett (27). Bobby Portis added eleven.
Trae Young had forty-two to lead all scorers and eight assists, second only to the Knicks’ Elfrid Payton in the game, who had nine in just twenty minutes.
Kevin Huerter is back and played big minutes but it didn’t matter. Atlanta has established an identity of a team that doesn’t just sometimes not play defense but of a team that never plays defense.
Okay, maybe not never. The Hawks have held four opponents to 100 points or less four times this season and they won all four.
They also won games in which they gave up 107 and 121. Of course, they’ve lost a good deal more games than they’ve won this season. The opponents’ average points per game: 117.
