Saturday, January 28th, the Toronto Raptors and Portland Trail Blazers tip off for the second and final time this season. Toronto won the initial January 8th match 117-105.
Toronto is completing a back-to-back set having lost 117-129 to the Warriors on Friday while the Blazers have the decided rest advantage last playing Wednesday when they rode Damian Lillard’s shoulders to a 134-124 victory versus the Jazz.
Last season the clubs played twice with Portland winning both contests. The Blazers hold the all-time record with 33 wins in 52 matches versus the Raptors.

Tough night for the Raptors who were trying to carry the momentum of beating the streaking Kings into San Francisco but the Warriors not only won the game (relatively easily) but also knocked out the Raps’ top defender OG Anunoby early in the match.
The fall looked like the sort that ends up requiring a stretcher but Anunoby walked off the court on his own power and the post-game reports indicated a sprained wrist (I seriously thought he broke his arm).
That’s better news than expected but not great at the start of a season-high seven-game road trip that he’ll likely miss most if not all of now. And this while the team knows many of thier individual futures rely on how they perform on the trip.

On offense, the Raptors score 112.7 points per game (20th) shooting 45.2% from the field and 33.4% from the perimeter ranking 28th in both categories.
Defensively, the Raptors allow 112.4 points (11th) with opponents shooting 48.9% from the field and 37.5% from deep also both ranking 28th
Dalano Banton (hip) is questionable and I assume Anunoby (wrist) is out while Porter Jr (toe) is shut down for the season.
Portland Trail Blazers
Damian Lillard carried the Trail Blazers to victory on Wednesday scoring 60 points for the fourth time in his career.
The achievement puts him in rare company as Wilt Chamberlain (32), Kobe Bryant (6), James Harden (4), and Michael Jordan (4) all have four or more 60-point efforts.
As great as Dame’s performance was coupled with the win it came at a cost as both Josh Hart and Jusuf Nurkic left the match with injuries and are questionable for Saturday.

Portland averages 114.0 points per game ranking 17th while shooting 48.0% from the field and 37.6% from the perimeter ranking ninth and seventh respectively.
The Blazers allow 113.3 points per game (15th) with foes shooting 47.8% from the field (22nd) and 36.5% from deep (21st).
Nurkic (calf) and Hart (hamstring tightness) are questionable while Ibou Badji (knee) and Justise Winslow (ankle) is out
