Toronto Raptors
The confusion over this Raptors team continues as we all await what will transpire on this seven-game road trip that the team is now 2-1 on.
Masai Ujiri has every GM and exec awaiting his decisions and he’s told them all that nothing will be decided (read: are we selling, buying, or blowing it up) until they return to Toronto.
Once again, the Raptors surprised though with their easy win in Portland, especially considering OG Anunoby was out after suffering that brutal fall in Golden State plus a less-than-impressive performance by Pascal Siakam.
Stats
On offense, the Raptors score 112.9 points per game ranking 19th while shooting 45.3% from the field (and 33.4% from the perimeter with both efficiency categories ranking 28th.
Defensively, the Raptors allow 112.3 points per game ranking ninth best with opponents shooting 49.0% from the field and 37.4% from deep ranking 28th and 29th respectively.
OG Anunoby (wrist) is downgraded to out Monday while Dalano Banton (hip) is questionable. Otto Porter Jr (toe surgery) is shut down for the season.
Phoenix Suns
With Chris Paul, Cameron Johnson, and Deandre Ayton back on the hardwood the Suns rediscovered their winning ways. But make no mistake this team is far from fixed.
Even with these players healthy this team doesn’t look invincible and although they’ll improve dramatically when Devin Booker returns the reality is they still need to add grit and depth because they aren’t putting fear into their opposition.
Stats
Phoenix averages 112.9 points per game ranking to 20th while shooting 46.2% from the field and 38.8% from the perimeter ranking 22nd and third overall.
Defensively opponents score 111.6 points ranking fifth-best. Meanwhile, they limit opponent shooting to 46.9% from the field and 36.2% from the perimeter ranking 11th and 20th respectively.
Landry Shamet (foot) was downgraded to out Monday. Cameron Payne (foot), Devin Booker (groin), and Jae Crowder (trade request) are out indefinitely.

Free Toronto Raptors vs. Phoenix Suns NBA Prediction:
It’s not much of a stretch to think this could be that game the basketball gods offer up retribution for last year’s game in the empty Scotiabank arena during mascot gate.
While the Suns have won five of their last six games they lost to the Mavericks with Luka playing barely three minutes and they needed overtime to beat the Spurs — (yes those tanking Spurs).
The point is this Suns team is beatable especially if the Raptors play like they did versus the Kings and Blazers.
