San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head last season, the Spurs won the series three games to one, while this campaign, the Spurs won the series two games to one.
In history, the teams have met on four occasions, with the Spurs taking the last three series, including the most recent meeting back in 2014.
Everything is a bonus for both these teams as they get to give the young cores experience in this environment. Sure, the Spurs have more expectations on them, but they are at least a year ahead of schedule, with many pundits picking them to win Larry O’B.
San Antonio is favored by 5.5 points with an over/under of 219 points.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers bottom line:
Clearly, the elephant in the room is how long Wembanyama will miss due to the concussion. Depending on who you read, the average time missed by a player in this situation is between seven and 10 days of action.
He sat in Game 3, but has partaken in some physical activity, but the Spurs aren’t showing their hand, simply stating he’s progressing through concussion protocols. Per the Tweet of the Day, that’s forcing Portland to have to prep to face a Spurs lineup with him and one without him.

Spurs Blazers Free Pick: Spurs -5.5
Here is my Spurs Blazers free pick.
While Game 3 was closer than the final score, the Blazers weren’t able to sustain pressure or close out quarters well. That was the difference in the contest, and now the Spurs will look to take a commanding 3-1 series lead.
Veteran Jrue Holiday had an incredible game on both sides of the ball, but he’ll need someone else to step up and help him if they are to even up the series.
In their 62-wins the Spurs shot 37% from deep, but in their losses, they shot 31%. Portland ranked 15th in perimeter defense, holding teams to 35.8%.
Regardless of whether Wemby plays, San Antonio is still the more talented and deeper squad. If Portland is to collect the win, they’ll need to apply their force for a full 48 minutes, and if Wemby returns, it will change the dynamics of how they accomplish that feat.
Although I love the grittiness of the Blazers, I’m just not convinced they can get the job done unless an ‘other’ over acheives and I just don’t see it happening.
For that reason, I’ll take the Spurs to win and cover.

The Spurs are obviously keeping the medical details in-house and forcing Blazers to scout two different teams for Sunday. The fact that he’s progressing is the only lead we’ve got. pic.twitter.com/jrWR4BjDfE
