San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head last season, the Spurs won the series three games to one, while this campaign, the Spurs won the series two games to one.
In history, the teams have met on four occasions, with the Spurs taking the last three series, including the most recent meeting back in 2014.
Everything is a bonus for both these teams as they get to give the young cores experience in this environment. Sure, the Spurs have more expectations on them, but they are at least a year ahead of schedule, with many pundits picking them to win Larry O’B.
San Antonio is favored by 1.5 points with an over/under of 220.5 points.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Portland Trail Blazers bottom line:
Clearly, the elephant in the room is how long Wembanyama will miss due to the concussion. Depending on who you read, the average time missed by a player in this situation is between seven to 10 days of action.
That isn’t ideal for Wemby, who isn’t likely to play in this game, but will he be available for Game 4?
Not having him opens up the paint for Portland, who will game plan to take advantage of his absence.

Spurs Blazers Free Pick: Blazers +1.5
Here is my Spurs Blazers free pick.
Despite winning Game 2, the Blazers can still be better, as Deni Avdija didn’t look great and may be nursing that back injury that bothered him throughout the year.
For San Antonio, this isn’t an ideal matchup because the Blazers have multiple solid guard defenders like Holiday, Henderson, and Matisse Thybulle. They are making life difficult for Stephon Castle, De’Aaron Fox, and Dylan Harper.
Moving into Game 3, the Spurs will need to figure out how to get that trimvirate of guards flowing or this could quickly become a series that lasts much longer than originally anticipated.
In their 62-wins the Spurs shot 37% from deep, but in their losses, they shot 31%. Portland ranked 15th in perimeter defense, holding teams to 35.8%.
The Moda Center will be hopping and is a tough venue with a great fanbase, so I really like the Blazers to ride the wave of excitement and momentum they currently have.
San Antonio is still the better overall team, even without Wemby, but for this game, I like the Blazers to take the series lead by eking out a victory.
Take the points and the Blazers.
