Sacramento Kings
The Kings lost their last game to the Pelicans by a score of 117-115. At the very least they had a shot to win, but instead have now lost 9 of their last 10 games. They will play the Warriors on Monday night before traveling to Phoenix to play the Suns in a back to back.
The Kings have had plenty of problems this season, but it starts with their scoring struggles. They average just 105.9 points per game, which gives them the 24th ranked scoring offense in the league.
Buddy Hield has claimed the title of leading scorer and is averaging 20.5 points per game. Behind him is De’Aaron Fox, who is averaging 17.6. Furthermore, they have Harrison Barnes, who is averaging 15.6, but just dropped 30 in their last game.
The most notable injury is Bogdan Bogdanovic and Marvin Bagley. Bogdanovic is dealing with an ankle issue and has been ruled out for Monday’s game. It is undetermined if he will be ready for this game against the Suns. As for Bagley, he has been out indefinitely with a foot injury and there is still no timetable for his return.

Defense has been up and down for this Kings team, but overall they are the 13th ranked scoring defense in the NBA and are allowing an average of 109 points per game. To break it down further, the Kings have played in back to back four times this season. In those four games, they have allowed an average of 113.8 points per game. In three of those games alone, they allowed 113 points or more so tired legs could play a significant factor.
Phoenix Suns
The Suns lost to the Grizzlies last time out. They were a 7-point favorite in that game so it does not make me confident in this game against a below average Kings team.
Clearly the Suns are playing for the future, which could be promising with their young talent.One they have been able to do is scoring the basketball at a high level. They are averaging 114.2 points per game, which is the 6th best scoring offense in the league. They are coming off a game where they score exactly 114, thus showing they score plenty to give themselves a chance.
Devin Booker continues to amaze as he just put up 40 points against the Memphis Grizzlies. He is now averaging 26 points per game. Kelly Oubre Jr was the second highest scorer against Memphis, putting up 17 points. However, this slightly brings his scoring average down to 18.2. While, five other guys besides their top two scorers average at least 10 points per game, the Suns need more consistent production from them because Booker simply cannot do everything on his own. This especially includes DeAndre Ayton, who needs to be a force in the low post.
The defense for the Suns continue to show their deficiencies as they just allowed 121 to Memphis. Teams are now shooting 47.8% against them an even though they are facing the Kings, there is still much concern in what their defense will be able to do.
