Sacramento Kings
The Kings overcame 50 points by Nikola Jokic to defeat the Nuggets Saturday evening, 119–114.
Sacramento has won six out of seven and is back at the .500 mark for the first time since early in January.
Harrison Barnes, De’Aaron Fox, Tyrese Haliburton and Richaun Holmes all finished with at least 20 points for the Kings. Hassan Whiteside posted a double-double off the bench.
Jamal Murray did not play for Denver, which contributed to Jokic’s career-high. Sacramento also missed having to face Marcus Smart and Kemba Walker against Boston earlier in the week.
But the Kings ought to be feeling great about themselves and so may just be up for this tough spot: in Los Angeles on the second night of a back-to-back.
Their game against Denver started at 5 PM Eastern but this one starts even earlier because of the Super Bowl.
LA Clippers
The Clippers blew a double-digit lead at halftime against the short-handed Celtics on Friday night and wound up losing, 119–115.
Boston outscored LA by eighteen in the third quarter and made more plays in the last five minutes of the game with the score back and forth.
Kawhi Leonard paced the Clips with 28 but he missed all five of his three-point shots. The oh-for dropped his three-point percentage down to 38.4. Entering the game, both he and Paul George were in the 50/40/90 club.
George did not play with a foot injury that has him listed as day-to-day. That was no excuse because Boston was without Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown.
LA looked crisp early, sharing the ball and playing hard on both ends. It led most of the first half by multiple buckets and even double-digits and then came out in the third like a team that thought it could coast to a win.
Jayson Tatum finished with 34 for Boston; Carsen Edwards had 16 off the bench; and Kemba Walker came alive in the second half to finish with 24 and make several key plays down the stretch.
Patrick Beverley missed the game with a knee injury and in his place Terance Mann got some good burn. He made two of his three shot attempts, had four rebounds, two assists and looked the part in a replacement role.

Free Sacramento Kings vs. LA Clippers NBA Prediction: Clippers roll.
It sounds like George will not play for LA. That hurts, obviously, but it also may present a decent number to back the Clippers at.
They were certainly playing well in that first half against Boston and that second half won’t derail them going forward.
Look for a complete 48 minutes out of the Clippers and a double-digit victory.
