Sacramento Kings
It was a bit of good news – bad news for the Kings as only one of their stars made the All-Star squad. Domantas Sabonis got the nod which was absolutely earned but unfortunately De’Aaron Fox missed the cut.
While Fox has been equally impressive this season he was in a tough spot because the coaches couldn’t leave Ja Morant or Shai Gilgeous-Alexander off the team.
Moreover, Damian Lillard has been scorching hot of late and is highly respected for the type of leader he is. The wild card slot was his only opening and with the Clippers in fourth Paul George likely got the nudge ahead of Fox.
Stats
Offensively, the Kings are among the very best in the association with the highest scoring output averaging 119.5 points per game. Similarly, they perform well in the proficiency areas registering 49.4% from the field and 36.8% from deep ranking third and 11th overall.
Sacramento ranks 21st in opponent scoring allowing 116.4 points per game while foes shoot 48.9% from the field and 36.0% from the perimeter ranking 27th and 17th respectively.
Injury Report
To summarize the injury report…
- De’Aaron Fox, PG (OUT – personal)
Indiana Pacers
Although the Pacers lost in a squeaker to the Lakers having Tyrese Haliburton back immediately made them relevant again.
In his first game back following an 10-game injury absence the Pacers’ point guard delivered a double-double of 26 points and 12 assists along with two rebounds and two steals.
Understandably he was a bit rusty, but no doubt was amped to learn prior to the match he’d been selected as a reserve in what will be his first All-Star appearance.
Stats
The Pacers average 115.1 points per game ranking 11th while shooting 45.8% from the field and 36.1% from deep ranking 24th and 13th.
Defensively, Indy allows 117.2 points per game (25th) while opponents shoot 47.4% from the field and 37.3% from the perimeter ranking 17th and 28th.
Haliburton (elbow) and Daniel Theis (knee) were both upgraded to probable and questionable respectively. Kendall Brown (tibia fracture) is out.
Injury Report
To summarize the injury report…
- The Pacers have no one on the injury report however, with Daniel Theis returning from a long injury absence and Haliburton just back it’s possible one or both could sit in this back-to-back scenario.

Free Sacramento Kings vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Prediction:
Fox is listed as out for ‘personal’ reasons and although it’s purely speculation on my part it could be for the delivery of his baby. In the three prior games Fox missed, the Kings are 1-2.
With Haliburton back and Fox out even with the Kings being the rested team I’d still give the Pacers the edge.
