Sacramento Kings
The Kings got DeAaron Fox back on Tuesday but lost in Charlotte, 110–102.
Fox played thirty minutes off the bench, shot six-of-thirteen for nineteen points and registered eight assists. It may take him another game or two to sharpen up, he had three steals on defense but fouled five times and committed three turnovers.

Sacramento is in Memphis in the game after this one for the second leg of a road back-to-back. That could be the spot to back Fox, who has to go against Malcolm Brogdon, the terrific all-around guard out of the University of Virginia.
Indiana Pacers
Stephen Curry has the best free throw percentage in the history of professional basketball in America (.905) but Brogdon, formerly of Milwaukee and now in his first season as a Pacer, is just tenths of a percentage point (.903) behind him.
Humble Moses — as they call him, a nickname play on his middle name — didn’t waste any time in becoming Indiana’s best player with Victor Oladipo out. He’s averaging career highs 18.9 points per game and 7.6 assists while keeping his turnovers under three per game.
But lifting the Pacers out of the first round (they have lost in the first round for four years in a row now) isn’t his burden alone because the Pacers have a terrific big man in Domantas Sabonis, the son of Hall-of-Famer Arvydas Sabonis.
Sabonis was a monster at Gonzaga, one of the best players to ever pass through the program, and was taken eleventh overall by the Orlando Magic in 2016, at the time the second highest NBA selection out of Gonzaga, behind Adam Morrison, who was taken third overall a decade earlier. Zach Collins and Rui Hachimura have since been taken tenth and ninth, respectively.
But Sabonis has twice been traded along with Victor Oladipo, first from Orlando to Oklahoma City (for Serge Ibaka) and then from OKC to Indiana (for Paul George). The Pacers aren’t likely to deal him and Oladipo a third time.
That’s because Brogdon, Sabonis, Oladipo and Indiana’s two dynamic wing scorers in Jeremy Lamb and TJ Warren make Indiana a real contender in the Eastern Conference, especially if some of the teams considered to be ahead of Indiana at the present suffer more wear and tear down the stretch.
The Pacers have a great bench and Myles Turner — another quality big in his fifth professional season. They can outlast the Milwaukee’s and the Philadelphia’s, which have both started fast.
