Portland Trail Blazers vs. San Antonio Spurs Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head last season, the Spurs won the series three games to one, while this campaign, the Spurs won the series two games to one.
In history, the teams have met on four occasions, with the Spurs taking the last three series, including the most recent meeting back in 2014.
Everything is a bonus for both these teams as they get to give the young cores experience in this environment. Sure, the Spurs have more expectations on them, but they are at least a year ahead of schedule, with many pundits picking them to win Larry O’B.
San Antonio is favored by 12 points with an over/under of 215.5 points.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. San Antonio Spurs bottom line:
It’s been an entertaining series, but the Blazers have to be licking their wounds after holding double-digit leads in both Game 3 and 4, yet still finding a way to lose.
The vets for the Blazers have shown up, but there is simply too much talent on the Spurs for them to steal wins unless their youngsters step up.
Portland needs to move the ball more if they want to have a chance at extending the series, and 14 assists just won’t cut it, especially when the Spurs are pushing pace and dishing dimes (26).

Trail Blazers Spurs Free Pick: Blazers +12
Here is my Trail Blazers Spurs free pick.
Victor Wembanyama had the spotlight on him again, and he didn’t disappoint, but you get the feeling there is much more to come.
San Antonio is crushing the Blazers in the paint, and what was expected to be a terrible matchup (Clingon on Wemby) has proven accurate.
If Portland wants to extend the series, they’ll need at least one of their youngsters to step up in Game 5, and perhaps with their backs against the wall, that will happen. Regardless if they win or not, this was a very positive season for the Blazers, who developed their youngsters and got them the taste of playoff ball.
In their 62-wins the Spurs shot 37% from deep, but in their losses, they shot 31%. Portland ranked 15th in perimeter defense, holding teams to 35.8%.
San Antonio has shown signs of their youth by letting the Blazers take double-figure leads in each of the last two games, but buckled down in the final frame.
They likely win Game 5 based on their overall talent and Wemby being the best player on the court, but I think they might play with their food in the middle frames again, so I’ll take the points.
