Game one is in the books, and now the teams make adjustments. Game 2 of the 2026 NBA Playoffs between the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics is on tap to open the night’s events at 7:00 p.m.
Boston took Game 1 in a commanding fashion, blowing out the Sixers 123-91. Four 76ers scored in double figures, led by Tyrese Maxey with 21 points and eight assists.

Here is my 76ers Celtics free pick.
News out of Philly on Monday is that Joel Embiid has begun working out for conditioning, and while he won’t be ready for Game 2, the question is whether he can make it back at some point in this series.
Certainly, his presence would provide a new wrinkle that the Celtics would have to deal with. Nothing is guaranteed, but for his teammates, just hearing he might return should be enough to give them a jolt in the arm.
Clutch time could be a thing, as the 76ers are great in that timeframe (56.1%), but the question is whether Philly can even get Boston into the clutch.
As for Game 2, the obstacles remain status quo – trying to slow and limit the J’s or at least keep one of them in check.
Furthermore, Philly has to be careful of a perimeter outburst by Boston, particularly early in matches, as that only serves to open up the paint once adjustments are made.
A series doesn’t start until a team wins on the road, but I’m betting that doesn’t happen until the teams play in Philly. While I think Boston wins again, the Sixers have to come out more desperate, so I’ll take the points.
