Monday, January 30th, the Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers will play the third of four scheduled contests.
Philly leads the season series 2-0 having swept the baseball set on November 25th (107-99) and 27th (133-103) in Orlando. Philly will also host the final February 1st meeting between the clubs.
Both teams last played Saturday with the Magic losing 109-128 to the Bulls while the 76ers beat the Nuggets 126-119.
Last season, the squads played four times with the 76ers sweeping the regular-season series with a current 10-game win streak. The Magic holds the all-time record having bested the 76ers in 79 of their 127 matches.

Saturday, Mo was the main catalyst spurring the Magic’s comeback as they attempted to erase a 25 point deficit. Mo scored 27 points with 16 occurring in consecutive fashion at the end of the third and into the final frame.
Orlando got no closer than six points with the loss serving as a reminder of the importance to start games with focus and intention.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray were questionable but played while nursing injuries and that doesn’t take away from the 76ers win which arguably was their most impressive of the season.
All eyes were focused on the Embiid and Jokic matchup with the latter edging out Philly’s big man as MVP the last two seasons. In this match Joel provided the quantity (and the win) while Nikola offered the quality.
To wit, Embiid dropped a massive 47 point, 18 rebound double-double but Jokic scored 24 on 19 fewer shots (8 of 12: 66.6%) and was perfect from both the 3-point line (2-2) and charity stripe (6-6) while dishing nine dimes and eight rebounds.

This season, the 76ers score an average of 114.8 points per game ranking 13th. Philly shoots 48.3% from the field and 38.5% from the perimeter, ranking seventh and fourth respectively.
Defense is where the 76ers make their mark allowing the fourth-fewest opponent points per game with 110.9 and the second best perimeter defense at 34.6% while ranking 15th for opponent field goal percentage allowing opponents to shoot 47.4%.
Joel Embiid (foot) is questionable. Julian Champagnie and Louis King are on assignment with the G League.
