Thunder vs. Nuggets Gameday
With just two dates left in the 2025-26 season, Friday serves up a loaded slate with all 30 teams in action including the OKC Thunder facing the Denver Nuggets.
Both teams last played on Wednesday. OKC defeated the Clippers 128-110 to cement the top seed in the association.
Five Thunder players scored in double figures, led by Chet Holmgren with a double-double of 30 points and 14 rebounds. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander kept his 20 points per game streak alive and also dished 11 assists for his own double-double.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets continue to roll, having collected their 10th win in a row when they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 136-119.
Balanced scoring was on display as eight Nuggets scored in double-figures, led by Jamal Murray with 26 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Nikola Jokic delivered another triple-double featuring 14 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.

OKC Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head, the teams have historically battled in their matches, with each side winning twice in the series last season. Denver was the one West team that pushed OKC in the playoffs on route to the championship. This season has been a different story with OKC up 3-0, albeit Denver was snake bitten by injury most of the season.
As noted, the Thunder have secured home court throughout the playoffs with a record of 64-16. They can’t be caught by the Spurs, which will allow both clubs to rest their players in the final two games if they so desire. They are on a current seven-game win streak.
Denver is on a roll, having won 10 matches in a row. They sit in third in the West with a record of 52-28. With the streak (and the injuries in LA), the Nuggets have pulled ahead of the Lakers by a game, but don’t own the tiebreaker.
Denver is favored by 11.5 points, with an over/under of 231.5 points.

OKC Thunder vs. Denver Nuggets bottom line:
With the stretch run in full effect, teams have a few games left to improve upon their positions and fix any glaring errors.
OKC has the fifth-toughest remaining strength of schedule with two games left. They’ll play the Nuggets and Suns. To reiterate, by securing the associations’ top seed, the Thunder can play all their reserves in these final two matches.
Denver has the most difficult remaining schedule strength with matches versus OKC and San Antonio. That would be the toughest schedule if these games mattered to both sides, but with those teams locked into the top two seeds, it’s actually an advantage for Denver.

Thunder Nuggets Free Pick: Thunder +11.5
Here is my Thunder Nuggets free pick.
It’s a who’s who of the injury report with nine Thunder players on it including Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, and Isaiah Hartenstein. With OKC wrapping up the top of the Conference as well as home court throughout the playoffs.
Denver also lists five core players as day-to-day, including Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon. I’d say it’s just posturing since the Nuggets only hold a one-game lead on the fourth-place Lakers, and since the Lakers hold the tiebreak, Denver needs one more win to secure the third seed.
As noted, the Spurs don’t really have anything to play for either, so these last two games should be very winnable for Denver if they elect to play their starters.
Per John Schuhmann: Nikola Jokić is going to be the first player to ever lead the league in both rebounds and assists per game, he’s averaging an uber-efficient 27.9 points for the league’s No. 1 offense, and that offense has scored 13.9 more points per 100 possessions with him on the floor (125.8) than it has with him off the floor (111.9).
Even with so many starters sitting and resting, this isn’t a cakewalk for the Nuggets. Sure, they’ll likely win, but the others on OKC are invested in winning, and all of them play to the team identity, which is defense first.
That’s why I’m taking the points, although I expect Denver to win the contest.
