Sunday, January 15th, the OKC Thunder and Brooklyn Nets meet for the first of two occasions this season. OKC will host the second meeting on March 14th.
The Thunder arrives having last played Friday in an impressive 124-110 victory over the Bulls while the Nets played Thursday losing 98-109 to the top-seeded Celtics.

Although Mark Daigneault hasn’t had the services of his rookie Chet Holmgren, he’s getting the best out of his young squad.
Of course, it certainly helps that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is delivering an All-Star, All-NBA worthy season and perhaps most notably has embraced leading this young group.
Much like the Grizzlies follow Ja Morant, the Thunder have adopted SGA’s personality — that of the silent killer. That is to say, he’s laid back but exudes quiet confidence and that reverberates down the bench with all the young guys having quiet confidence.

OKC allows 116.4 points per game ranking 22nd. They allow opponents to shoot 46.5% from the field and 35.6% from deep which ranks ranking ninth and 14th respectively.
On the positive side, the Thunder scores 116.9 points per game which ranks an impressive eighth overall. So far, in terms of shooting efficiency, they rank 20th from the field shooting 46.6%, and 17th from the perimeter shooting 35.6%.
At this time, Ousmane Dieng (non-displaced wrist fracture), Aleksej Pokusevski (non-displaced tibial plateau fracture), and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (ankle) are all out Sunday. Chet Holmgren, (foot surgery) will miss the entire season.
Brooklyn Nets
It’s too early to know how the loss of Kevin Durant will impact the Nets. Even if he’d been playing against the Celtics there is a good chance the Nets would’ve lost that game.
What’s more, he’ll miss at least a month so the goal for the Nets will be to try to keep winning and to develop their role players so that when KD returns they can gear up to be healthy and ready for the postseason.

Additionally, Brooklyn allows 110.6 points per game ranking fifth best and possesses the four-best opponent field goal percentage of 45.3%. So far, their perimeter defense is another story as foes shoot 36.5% from deep ranking 22nd overall.
Also, on the positive side, Brooklyn scores 114.2 points per game (13th). They own the best field goal percentage, shooting 51.0%, and rank second on the perimeter (39.2%).
At this time, Kevin Durant (MCL sprain) is the only player on the injury report for the Nets.
