Last season, the teams played twice with the Clippers sweeping the two games. The Knicks hold the all-time record having bested the Clippers in 70 of their 130 matches.

Fans in the Mecca got treated to a three-game win streak and a solid 6-4 ten-game streak prior to the loss to the Suns. With only 10 wins on the season, this was by far the best stretch the team has played in this campaign.

In the loss to the Suns, Julius Randle delivered a double-double of 13 points and 13 rebounds while Marcus Morris Sr. led the scoring with 25 points. The trio of Bobby Portis (20), Elfrid Payton (15), and R.J. Barrett were the other double-figure contributors.
On the season Julius Randle tops scoring (18.7), assists (3.3), and rebounds (9.1) for the team. Mitchell Robinson tops field goal percentage (70.2%) and 1.9 blocks per game while Frank Ntilikina is the leader for steals (1.1).

Los Angeles Clippers
A poor stretch of eight games witnessed the Clippers alternate wins and losses for a 4-4 record. Week 11 offered up some help in the form of a four-game schedule facing lower-tier seeds. Halfway through the week, it was working with two successive wins.
Unfortunately, the good luck didn’t continue as the Clippers got routed by the Memphis Grizzlies 140-114, despite Kawhi Leonard playing.
The Grizzlies pounced on LA in the first quarter taking a 40-27 lead and although the Clippers shaved off five points in the second they allowed Memphis to continue their assault in the third with a 39-23 frame.
Montrezl Harrell led the team in scoring with 28 points. Kawhi Leonard and Lou Williams each scored 24 points and Landry Shamet chipped in with 10 points.
Given the back-to-back it’s likely Kawhi Leonard will sit out this match since he played versus the Grizzlies. That could be a major issue given the team doesn’t fare well when Leonard rests.
Paul George had to leave the game versus the Pistons with left hamstring tightness which kept him out versus the Grizzlies and will likely also keep him out Sunday.
Patrick Beverley missed the last three games with a right wrist sprain and is doubtful for Sunday.
