New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks Odds & Last 5
For the past three years, the Knicks have won the head-to-head regular-season series versus the Hawks. In this campaign, they led two games to one.
Historically, the teams have met in the postseason on three occasions, with the Knicks winning twice, but the Hawks won the most recent (2021) meeting when Trae Young was still with Atlanta and famously quieted the Mecca.
Coming into the playoffs, the Hawks were one of the hottest teams, winning 19 of their final 24 contests. New York was also strong to close the season, winning 12 of their final 16 contests.
The Knicks are favored by a spread of 2.5 points, while the over/under is 214 points.

The East’s sixth seed averages 118.5 points per game, while its opponents average 116.0 points. In terms of dimes and boards, Atlanta averages 30.1 (first) and 43.5 (18th), respectively.
Team leaders* in key categories for Atlanta feature Jalen Johnson for scoring (22.5 points), rebounding (10.3), and assists (7.9) while Dyson Daniels is the top steal man (2.0) and Oneyeka Okongwu (1.1) for blocks.

New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks bottom line:
Although the Knicks won the match, they continued to ignore their greatest asset, which is Karl-Anthony Towns. Onyeka Okongwu is tasked with that defensive assignment and does an okay job, but with Towns only taking seven shots hasn’t been pushed that hard.
If the Hawks are to even up the series and force a Game 7, it’ll be because Jalen Brunson continues to be the main offensive threat, taking over three times as many field goals as Towns.
New York Knicks vs. Atlanta Hawks Basketball Betting Trends

Knicks Hawks Free Pick: Knicks -1.5
Here is my Knicks Hawks free pick.
Since falling behind 2-1 in the series, a different Knicks squad has shown up in the last two games. They are playing with more physicality, especially on defense, and it’s exposing the Hawks.
In particular, the Knicks are beasting on the glass, where they outrebounded the Hawks 48-27 in Game 5. They also clamped down on the Hawks in transition, holding them to just four points.
Atlanta has won two games out of three in clutch time which is surprising given how well Jalen Brunson has typically performed in this period of the game. The Knicks were 21-13 in clutch time wins which ranks sixth in clutch time win percentage (61.8%) versus Atlanta who ranked 18th (48.6%).
While CJ McCollum helped Atlanta to pull off two single-point victories, he’ll need someone else to step up if they are to extend the series. Jalen Johnson is being forced into a scoring role where he typically is more of a distributor and secondary scorer.
The defense on Nickeil Alexander-Walker has held him in check in the series, but he may be due for a breakout performance.
Ultimately, the Knicks just have more depth and talent, and it feels inevitable they’ll finish the series, so I’m taking New York to win and cover.
