New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans played the Jazz on Tuesday in a quiet night in the NBA, which featured nothing but a nationally televised doubleheader with teams outside of Los Angeles and New York.
New Orleans got 32 points from Zion Williamson, who shot 14-of-19 from the field, but lost, 118–102.

The Pels won the turnover battle handily too and didn’t see much of a disparity at the free throw line. Utah simply out-shot them, especially from the three-point arc.
Lonzo Ball went 0-for-6, Nickeil Alexander-Walker went 1-for-6 and even JJ Redick made just 1-for-4 from outside.
Utah, meanwhile, went 21-for-47 from outside, letting it fly with reckless abandon and winning because of it.
Can the Jazz replicate the performance two nights later? New Orleans will be hungry for a split in game two.

Joe Ingles made five, Jordan Clarkson four, Donovan Mitchell four and Bojan Bogdanovic three.
Rudy Gobert feasted on the long rebounds that didn’t go down. He finished with 18 rebounds, including six on offense in less than 30 minutes of action.
Gobert’s rebounding averages continue to trend up, which they have been doing for the past five years, despite starting at elite levels.
He’s on pace to make it six consecutive seasons with double-digit rebounds per game (and he’s well over 13 per game this season and last) and two blocks.
And even though his shooting percentages are down this season (he did shoot nearly 70 percent from the field last season, after all), his presence in the paint allows the Jazz to space and shoot as many threes as it did on Tuesday night.
Utah takes the third-most three-pointers in the league on a per-game average. Its opponents take the fourth-most, in part because they feel a need to match Utah’s approach and, even more, because of Gobert’s shot-blocking at the rim.
While Utah shoots .401 from outside, opponents are shooting .343. Sometimes outside shooting can be a matter of luck, game to game.
That isn’t always the case, however. Utah has the second-best record in the league because it out-shoots it opponents consistently.
