With the loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, the Pelicans tied a franchise record of 13 consecutive losses. After a solid preseason, the club was hoping to vie for a playoff seed but the loss of rookie Zion Williamson to a knee injury was just the start of many players being in and out of the lineup.

As for Williamson, he participated in the teams mid-day shootaround on Tuesday and while Pelicans General Manager David Griffin says Zion is still a bit away from a return the team is excited as that date draws near.
In the loss to Brooklyn, Brandon Ingram’s double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds along with Jrue Holiday’s 20 points, six assists and five rebounds led the way.
The trio of Josh Hart (14), Jaxson Hayes (13) and Lonzo Ball (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
On the season, Brandon Ingram tops the Pelicans leaderboard in scoring (24.9), rebounds (7.1) and field goal percentage (48.6%). Jrue Holiday leads the team in assists (6.8) and steals (1.7). Jaxson Hayes is the leader for blocks (1.0).
As noted although Zion Williamson has hit the eight weeks initially projected as his return date the team will exercise patience and caution prior to having him play in games.
JJ Redick has missed the last two games with a sore left groin, and is questionable for Wednesday. Darius Miller (Achilles) is rehabbing from a ruptured Achilles and isn’t projected to return this season.
Minnesota Timberwolves

In the loss, Karl-Anthony Towns delivered a double-double of 39 points and 12 rebounds. Andrew Wiggins (34), Jeff Teague (22) and Robert Covington (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
Towns leads the team in most categories including scoring (26.5 points), rebounds (11.7), field goal percentage (51.4 percent) and blocks (1.3). Jeff Teague leads the team with 6.8 assists and Robert Covington 1.4 steals is tops.
Towns is ailing from a left knee sprain, making his status for the Wednesday match versus the Pelicans uncertain. Jake Layman is missing games due to a left toe sprain and remains out with no definitive return date.
