The Bulls are looking for a bounce back after falling 105-101 to a shorthanded Washington team playing on the back to back on Monday. Chicago gets another team on 0 days rest when New Orleans visits on Wednesday night.
The Pelicans are licking their chops to play one of the worst front court defenses in the NBA. New Orleans rattled off their fourth straight win in dominating fashion on Tuesday, toppling Houston 130-101.
New Orleans Pelicans
New Orleans was up 13 at the half vs. Houston on Tuesday night, allowing them to cruise to the 29-point win. The blowout was extremely important for the back-to-back, as Josh Hart was the only Pels’ player to log 30+ minutes.
That preps Zion Williamson and the New Orleans front court for a big night against a Bulls defense missing Lauri Markkanen and Wendell Carter, Jr. Williamson had 20 points in 20 minutes vs. the Rockets.
Williamson has netted 28+ in two of three prior to the Rockets game. Brandon Ingram has also netted 22+ in each of the Pelicans four wins.
The 130 points put up by New Orleans on Tuesday also bodes well, as the Rockets have the #4 defense in the NBA. The Bulls on the other hand rank 21st in that category, which is why this betting total is 229.
Chicago Bulls
The Bulls suffered a blow with Lauri Markkanen now being sidelined for 2-4 weeks with yet another injury. That puts a lot of their scoring burden on Zach LaVine, who had already been shouldering much of the offensive load.
LaVine has 35+ the last two games, but the Bulls still managed just 101 points total in Monday’s loss to Washington. Thaddeus Young was the only other Bulls player with more than a dozen points, and the Wizards have the 2nd worst defense in the league.
Chicago misses out on a break with the Pelicans not being as fatigued as they would on a normal back-to-back. New Orleans will be relatively fresh following their glorified scrimmage vs. Houston on Tuesday.
The Bulls are also strangely just 3-8 at the United Center this season. New Orleans has won six straight in the series, including 125-119 last February in Chicago as -5.5 road favorites. Is a similar outcome expected Wednesday?

Free New Orleans Pelicans vs. Chicago Bulls NBA Prediction:
Not a lot to like about Chicago right now, especially at home and very much so with the injury to Markkanen and the inability of the rest of the roster to step up so far.
