This Christmas Day matchup features the Timberwolves traveling to Oklahoma City to face a tough Thunder team.
The Timberwolves are 3-1 in their last 4 games, while Oklahoma City is 2-2 in their last 4.
Minnesota Timberwolves
Minnesota has been one of the biggest surprises of the NBA season, due to their poor play. Sitting at 9-19 is not where the franchised pictured themselves, and they are likely playing for a lottery slot.

Karl Anthony Towns has been on of the best players in the league this season, and should receive his first All Star bid. He is averaging 22 points and 11 rebounds per game and has 9 straight games with 11 or more rebounds.
Steven Adams will have the tough task of slowing down Towns, and I don’t expect him to get the job done. Look for another huge performance out of Towns in this one. It wouldn’t surprise me to see him put u[p a 20 and 20 game.
Anthony Wiggins has gotten into an offensive groove, which can be the start of a huge leap for the third year wing out of Kansas. He has put up 20 or more points in 3 of the last 5 games and had 19 points in their last game against the Hawks.
This game should see Oladipo (if he gets the start) guarding Wiggins for much of the contest but I do expect Wiggins to put up numbers similar to his season average (21 points and 4 rebounds per game).

Zach Lavine has seen his scoring jump up by 6 points this season, and he is putting up 20 a game. Known for his highlight reel dunk he has become a much bigger threat behind the arc, attempting almost 7 3’s a game and knocking them down at a 39% rate.
Look for Russell Westbrook to hound Lavine all night on both ends of the floor, so he may be in for a poor offensive game.
Oklahoma City Thunder
Russell Westbrook is putting up arguably one of the best statistical seasons a guard has ever had in the NBA. He is currently averaging 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, and does everything for the Thunder.
Zack Lavine and Ricky Rubio will be guarding him most of the night, and I don’t see any reason for Westbrook to slow down his historic pace on both ends of the floor. Expect a triple double from him as he will make an impact early in the game.
Victor Oladipo is dealing with a wrist injury and has missed 6 games. If he gets the start I expect him to put up limited numbers in his return. If he can’t give it a go then Andre Roberson will fill in.
Roberson provides good defense but nothing on the offensive end, which will be more reason for Westbrook to dominate the ball in this game.

Steven Adams continues his strong offensive play this season. He had 12 points and 4 rebounds against the Hawks and is clearly the best 3rd scoring option for the Thunder starting lineup. Karl Anthony Towns will be tough to play against when Adams has the ball, but I do expect him to put up a double double against the Twolves.
