On Tuesday, December 29th the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Clippers meet for the first time in the 2020-21 campaign.
The Clippers hold the all-time record with 61 wins in 118 meetings. Last season, the teams played three times with the Clippers winning all two of the three contests.

While the Wolves got out to a great start to the season things abruptly shifted when Karl-Anthony Towns suffered a dislocated wrist (the same wrist he previously fractured).

That meant Minnesota entered their last match without their superstar and the effect was palpable as the Lakers routed them even though they themselves were missing the services of Anthony Davis.
Only three Wolves registered double-figure scoring with rookie Anthony Edwards 15 points leading the way. Naz Reid scored 11 while Jake Layman chipped in 10 points as the only other double-digit performers.
Towns absence was palpable as no starter gained more than five rebounds or four assists and his return date is unknown.
Josh Okogie had to leave the Lakers game due to lower leg cramps and is questionable for Tuesday.
Jaylen Nowell missed the last three games due to a sprained ankle and remains a question mark for Tuesday.
Los Angeles Clippers
To start the season the Clippers once again looked like the team who would give the Lakers the greatest challenge in the West. Then an unintentional elbow caught superstar Kawhi Leonard in the face and abruptly brought the Clippers back to earth.
The inadvertent elbow to Kawhi’s face was delivered by Serge Ibaka and resulted in eight stitches for Leonard as well as his absence in their next match.
The latter was perhaps the most embarrassing loss in Clippers history and statistically was the worst loss. The Dallas Mavericks lowered the boom and let by 50 points at the half time with LA only managing to score 27 points through the initial two frames. That was also an NBA record.
Three Clippers scored in double-figures with Paul George leading the way (15 points). Serge Ibaka was arguably the only starter who played well, registering a line typical for him of 13 points and nine rebounds. Ivica Zubac scored 10 points as the only other double-figure contributor.
Marcus Morris Sr., (knee) hasn’t played in any of the three regular-season games nursing a knee injury but he practiced with the team Monday (as did Leonard). Leonard is noted as questionable and Morris as out but if he practiced perhaps they’ll upgrade him to possible.
