Coming into this game they have won three of the last four games with the loss during that stretch coming against the Memphis Grizzlies on the road.
In those two wins, the Timberwolves gave up 103 points or less, and that type of defensive performance is going to keep them playing well.
The big question for the Wolves heading into this game is the status of Karl-Anthony Towns. He has been sidelined with a left knee sprain and is questionable for this game.
It appears that he is getting closer to returning, but it’s unclear if he will go in this game. If he can play, that is a big boost for the Timberwolves.
Houston Rockets
On the other side of this matchup is the Houston Rockets who have been super up and down this year, and are coming off a disapointing loss.
In their last game, it was Russell Westbrook’s homecoming and the pressure seemed to be too much. The offense only scored 92 points and it led to a loss.
All season it’s been all about the offense for the Rockets. On the season the Rockets are averaging 118.7 points per game while the defense is giving up 113.9 points.
The Wolves defense has been better, so it’s going to be important the offense finds a way to get going. Look for the Rockets to try and push the pace and run up the score. A shootout doesn’t guarantee they win, but it will really help their chances.
Clint Capela and Eric Gordon are both questionable for this game with an injury. Missing either of these guys would be a big loss for this team.
