The NBA ushers in Tuesday, January 5th with the Minnesota Timberwolves facing the Denver Nuggets for the second game in three days. In the first meeting on Sunday, the Nuggets won 124-109. It was their ninth consecutive win over the Wolves.

The Timberwolves are missing their superstar Karl-Anthony Towns whose absence is making it difficult for the team to string together any cohesion on either side of the hardwood.

It’s been a tough start to the season for the Nuggets who’ve had to navigate injuries to their core missing Jamal Murray for a game and Michael Porter Jr. in the last two contests.
Facing the Wolves they were able to take advantage of an opponent who is equally mired by the injury to Towns.
The Nuggets won three of four quarters punctuated by a 41 point fourth-quarter outburst. Murray who began the season searching for his rhythm and shooting stroke dropped 36 points on the Wolves to lead the way for his Denver crew.
In six games Nikola Jokic has served up four triple-doubles and in the two he didn’t hit that benchmark he was only one rebound shy. Versus the Wolves, he added his fourth trip-dub of the season with 19 points, 12 assists, 12 rebounds.
Four other Nuggets registered double-figure scores including Facundo Campazzo (15), JaMychal Green (14), Paul Millsap (12), and Monte Morris (11).
Michael Porter Jr. missed the last two games undergoing the NBA health and safety protocols and is questionable to play Tuesday while Greg Whittington has a left knee sprain that will keep him out indefinitely.
