Wednesday, December 30th finds the Milwaukee Bucks and Miami Heat playing the second game of a back-to-back set being played in Miami. The initial match of this set was won by Bucks who blew out the Heat 144-97.
Last season the clubs played three times with Miami taking two of the three matches. The Heat holds the all-time record with 70 wins in 115 matches.
Milwaukee Bucks
When you hear players or coaches say it’s a long season and to never get too up or down over one game it might seem like a throwaway comment but there is truth to the message.
Case in point, the Bucks struggled to hit 3-pointers (7 of 38) against the Knicks and got routed by 20 points.
One game later they couldn’t miss against the team who posted the best perimeter defense of a season ago. Milwaukee connected on a record 29 triples to set an NBA record.
Seven Bucks reached double-digits although Giannis Antetokounmpo wasn’t among them. Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday led the way with 25 and 24 points respectively.
Donte Divincenzo (17), Brook Lopez (14), Bryn Forbes (12), Bobby Portis (11), and DJ Augustin (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
Torrey Craig suffered a fractured nose and won’t be available Tuesday.
Miami Heat
Without Jimmy Butler, the Heat got exposed for their defensive issues which the loss to the Bucks only served to highlight. Allowing Milwaukee to score 46 points in the first quarter and 83 in a half punctuated the point.
Tyler Herro was the only Heat player to clear 20 points (23) along with seven assists, three rebounds, and a steal. Bam Adebayo registered 12 points, six rebounds, four assists, a steal, and a block.
Kendrick Nunn (15), Avery Bradley (14), and Precious Achiuwa (10) were the other double-figure contributors. While the Bucks couldn’t miss from deep the Heat struggled making 11 of their 37 attempts or 29.7 percent.
Gabe Vincent (knee) hasn’t played in the last three games and is questionable for Wednesday. As expected, Jimmy Butler who left the previous match after tweaking his ankle was out on Tuesday and is questionable for the game Wednesday as he deals with ongoing ankle stiffness.
NBA Betting Trends:
- The Bucks are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

- Under is 19-6-1 in the last 26 meetings in Miami.
Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. Miami Heat NBA Prediction:
This season has been peppered with multiple games featuring blowouts both by lower-tier squads and elite teams. So the Tuesday game fits into this trend.
However, it’s highly unusual for the Heat to get outworked this badly. Expect head coach Erik Spoelstra to have his charges well prepared for Wednesday and come out with much more force to start the game.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Heat +4.5
With or without Butler the Bucks will feel the Heat as they atone for Tuesday.
