Friday, January 27th, the Milwaukee Bucks and Indiana Pacers play the second of four scheduled matches. The Bucks will host again on March 16th while the Pacers will host on March 29th. Milwaukee won the initial January 16th contest 132-119.
Both teams last played on Wednesday with the Bucks beating the Nuggets 107-99 albeit without four starters while the Pacers lost 120-126 to the Magic.
Last season the clubs played four times with the Bucks taking all four contests and holding a current nine-game winning streak against the Pacers dating back to March 4th, 2020. The Bucks hold the all-time record with 112 wins in 203 matches versus Indiana.

Milwaukee Bucks
While the Bucks are finally close to full health the win versus the Nuggets wasn’t as dominant as you would expect given starters Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, Michael Porter Jr., and Kentavious Caldwell Pope all were out.
Giannis Antetokounmpo (33 points, 14 rebounds) and Pat Connaughton (19 points, 12 rebounds) both registered double-doubles in the victory.
In his second game back from an extended injury absence Khris Middleton checked in as a reserve and played just 15 minutes.
While the Bucks aren’t sweating regular season games it’s a bit of a red flag that the Nuggets had more double-figure scorers (five versus four) despite missing four of their best players.
Bobby Portis will miss at least two weeks after suffering an MCL strain and tweaking his ankle. It’s terrible timing considering the recent mutual agreement to trade Serge Ibaka to a team where he’d have a larger role.
The Milwaukee Bucks and center Serge Ibaka have mutually agreed to find the 14-year NBA veteran a new home via trade as he remains away from the team, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Stats
Milwaukee allows the sixth-fewest points 111.5 per game limiting opponents to 45.5% from the field (4th) and 34.7% from deep (8th). Offensively, the Bucks score 113.1 points per game (18th) shooting 45.8% from the field (23rd) and 35.9% from deep (16th)
While Portis and Ibaka are out MarJon Beauchamp (knee) and AJ Green (ankle) are questionable for Friday.
Indiana Pacers
Without Tyrese Haliburton, Indy is 1-7 (2-8 on the season) serving to punctuate just how valuable he is to their success and why he should be a slam-dunk to make the reserve All-Star team.
Still, this young Pacers squad has offered ample entertainment this season so I’m anxious to see what choices Kevin Pritchard makes at the trade deadline.
Will he elect to move on from Buddy Hield and/or Myles Turner and if he does trade one or both how will that impact the restructured group since both players shine in their specific roles?
Stats
The Pacers average 115.1 points per game (12th) while shooting 45.6% from the field (25th) and 36.2% from deep (13th). Defensively, Indy allows 116.8 points per game (24th) while opponents shoot 47.3% from the field (15th) and 37.4% from the perimeter (29th).
Myles Turner (ankle), Andrew Nembhard (illness), and Aaron Nesmith (wrist) are questionable for Friday. Haliburton (elbow), Kendall Brown (tibia fracture), and Daniel Theis (knee) are out indefinitely.

Free Milwaukee Bucks vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Prediction:
Haliburton’s continued absence is the main issue for the Pacers, but if Nembhard and Turner are also out it should equate to an easy win for the Bucks. Then again, they certainly didn’t look invincible against the severely shorthanded Nuggets.
While I believe the Bucks will win, I’ll take the points as Benn Mathurin continues to fight and despite being a rookie shows leadership qualities seldom witnessed in a rookie.
