Wednesday, December 21st the Milwaukee Bucks and Cleveland Cavaliers meet for the third of four scheduled meetings this season. The Bucks won the two prior meetings on November 16th (113-98) and November 25th (117-102). Cleveland will host again on January 21st.
Both teams last played Monday with the Bucks besting the Pelicans 128-119 while the Cavaliers defeated the Jazz 122-99.
Last season the clubs played four times with the Cavaliers winning three of the four contests. The Bucks hold the all-time record with 130 wins in 227 matches versus Cleveland.

Milwaukee Bucks
The Bucks are the new leaders of the NBA overtaking the Celtics this weekend and padding that lead with their win in New Orleans on Monday.
They’ve been the silent assassins sitting by listening to the hype surrounding the Bean Town crew’s prolific offense, the rising youthful talents of the Grizzlies and Pelicans. Frequently they were the add-on in the East as diatribes about the Celtics would be followed by “and the Bucks”
The Nets, Cavaliers, and Knicks are all getting shine on national programs but the most coverage on the Bucks occurred following their loss to the 76ers and the Giannis after-game altercation with a ladder and Montrezl Harrell.
Presumably, being relegated to the shadows is a position Antetokounmpo and his mostly veteran teammates are fine with because they have one mission in mind – – to reclaim the NBA title after injuries and a tough Game 7 loss sent them home early last year.
Antetokounmpo is averaging of 31.0 points, 11.1 rebounds (2.0 offensive boards), 5.2 assists, and 1.0 blocks per game.
He’s shooting 53.3 percent from the field on 20.9 attempts, 26.3 percent from the perimeter on 3.2 attempts, and 63.8 percent from the stripe on 12.5 attempts.
Opponents score the fourth-fewest points versus the Bucks with 108.8 and are limited to the second-lowest (44.8%) field goal percentage and rank 11th for opponent perimeter percentage of 34.8%.
Offensively, the Bucks score 113.1 points per game (16th), while shooting 46.2% from the field (21st) and 34.1% from the perimeter (17th).
Khris Middleton (knee soreness) is doubtful.
Cleveland Cavaliers
While the Bucks collected a fairly easy win the game was still competitive to the end whereas the Cavaliers had a much easier night of work. Donovan Mitchell sat the entire fourth quarter playing only 23 minutes with Evan Mobley the only Cavalier to log more than 30 minutes (31).
Mitchell leads his squad with 29.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 50.6 percent from the field on 20.4 attempts, 43.1 percent from deep on 9.1 attempts, and 89.1 percent from the line on 5.3 attempts.
Offensively, Cleveland scores 110.9 points per game ranking 23rd while shooting 47.9% from the field and 36.9% on the perimeter ranking eighth in both categories.
Cleveland tops the league for opponent scoring limiting foes to an average of 104.4 points per game. Cavs opponents shoot 45.3% from the field and 34.4% from deep which ranks fifth and sixth respectively.
Lamar Stevens (knee) is doubtful while Dean Wade (shoulder), Dylan Windler (ankle), and Ricky Rubio (ACL surgery) are out.

If by chance Giannis and Co. happen to look at spreads the fact they’re relegated to the underdog position will be enough motivation all on its own (even if Middleton doesn’t dress) to fuel them.
