On Tuesday, January 14th the Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Miami Heat for the second time in three days. The initial game was pushed to overtime with the 76ers winning 137-134.
Last season, the squads played four times with the Heat winning three of the four contests. Miami holds the all-time record between the squads with 64 victories in the team’s 125 meetings.
Miami Heat
The match on Tuesday between the clubs was uncertain to take place as the Heat are among the teams currently struggling to dress eight players.

In the loss to the 76ers on Tuesday, the Heat had the bare minimum eight players dressed and the majority of their core out due to the COVID-19 protocols.
Of those who played all five starters reached double-figures and were led by sophomore Tyler Herro who fought to keep the Heat in the match. Herro led his team with 34 points and hit the 3-point shot to tie the game and send the game to overtime.
Duncan Robinson (26), Gabe Vincent (24), Precious Achiuwa (17), and Kelly Olynyk (15) were the other double-figure contributors.
Nine Heat players are listed as out for Thursday, with seven undergoing the COVID-19 health and safety protocols. Those seven are Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Goran Dragic, Avery Bradley, Kendrick Nunn, Udonis Haslem, and KZ Okpala.
The other two players out are Meyers Leonard who is nursing a shoulder injury and Mo Harkless with an arm injury.
Philadelphia 76ers
Like the Heat, the 76ers were only able to dress eight players but the most important person on the court was Joel Embiid who was masterful in the match collecting a massive double-double of 45 points and 16 rebounds.
That Embiid accomplished this shortly after missing games with back spasms sent a statement. Danny Green had by far his best game in years with a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds plus six assists.
Mike Scott (16), Tyrese Maxey (16), and Dwight Howard (10) were the other double-figure contributors. Ben Simmons returned after missing two games due to a sore knee. He wasn’t functioning at 100 percent scoring just five points but dished 12 assists.
Tony Bradley missed the last game with ankle soreness while Terrance Ferguson missed the last four games for personal reasons.
Four players are in abiding by the NBA health and safety protocols tied to contact tracing including Tobias Harris, Shake Milton, Matisse Thybulle, and Vincent Poirier.
Seth Curry was the contact as he tested positive for COVID-19. All seven of these players are listed as questionable. Furkan Korkmaz (groin) is out indefinitely.

Free Miami Heat vs. Philadelphia 76ers NBA Prediction:
It seems unlikely the 76ers would get back the players out due to health and safety but they will have their two superstars. Conversely, the Heat will be missing their two All-Stars and that gives Philly the edge.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: 76ers ATS
Joel Embiid is virtually unstoppable without Bam Adebayo available so the 76ers have the edge. The Heat displayed a competitive fire, forcing overtime and frankly, the game shouldn’t have been that close.
Although the Heat will push to stay in the match hopefully Philly learned their lesson last game.
