If the season were to end today, these two teams would be playing in the first round of the playoffs. The Heat would be the 3rd seed and the Pacers would be the 6th seed.
These teams met at the end of December, where the Heat won 113-112.
Miami Heat
The Heat bounced back from a blowout loss to the Magic by defeating the Trail Blazers 122-111. They are still 7-3 in their last 10 games, so things are still going well at the moment.
Miami has an offense that averages 111.1 points per game. This is ranked 11th in the NBA. They shoot the ball incredibly well at 46.7% and they have the second best three-point shooting percentage at 37.8%.
The Heat have one of the most balanced offenses in the league, which is why they are so good. They have seven guys who average at least 10 points or more per game. Jimmy Butler leads the way with 20.4 points per game. Butler is dealing with aback injury, so he is questionable for this game. However, the Heat have enough role players that even if Butler cannot go, they will still be able to stay competitive.

Like the Pacers, the Heat have one of the better defenses in the NBA. They allow 107.3 points per game, the 10th best scoring defense in the NBA. Furthermore, teams shoot just 44.2% from the field against them and 32.7% from the three-point line.
Look for the Heat to focus their defense on TJ Warren. If he is slowed down, they will have a chance to get out if front early.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers had been winning consistently and were moving up the Eastern Conference standings. They have started to struggle recently and have lost four of their last six game. They just snapped a short two-game losing streak with a 115-104 win over the Charlotte Hornets.
For the most part, the Pacers have been able to score points. They do only average 109.5 points per game, which gives them the 18th ranked scoring offense in the NBA. Recently, their scoring has picked up though and they are averaging 114.1 points per game over their last four.
They have the 5th best shooting percentage in the league at 46.8% an also the 5th best three-point shooting percentage at 36.9%.
Indiana is led in scoring by TJ Warren, who is averaging 18.3 points per game. Domantas Sabonis is second in scoring averaging 17.8 points per game and Malcolm Brogdon is right behind him with 17.7 points per game. Note that Sabonis is dealing with a knee injury, but is listed as probable for the game against Miami. Brogdon is suffering from lower back spasms and is questionable for this game against the Heat.
Indiana has proven to be one of the best defensive teams in the league this season. They allow 106.2 points per game, the 8th best scoring defense. Teams shoot 44.2% from the field and 33.6% from the three-point line against them.
However, they have started to struggle slowing down teams and are allowing an average of 110.3 points per game over their last four. My main concern for the Pacers is the health of two of their best players. Without these two guys, Indiana is going to be short-handed, especially on defense and could have issues slowing Miami down.

Free Miami Heat vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Prediction:
These teams are very evenly matched and given the Pacers are a solid home team, I like them to pull out the win. I also like for plenty of points to be scored, so the over is my free pick.
