The Grizzlies are still without Ja Morant. They are weathering it generally OK though. Better than I would have thought.
The Timberwolves welcomed Karl-Anthony Towns back to the lineup. His return shows their limitations. Shocker.
Memphis has been having success on the road this season. This is a spot where that can continue.
I do not think we are going to see Morant until February. Also, we haven’t seen Justise Winslow or Jaren Jackson Jr. at all for the Grizzlies.
That is three would be starters. Memphis’ depth has taken a huge hit with the injuries.
I am not totally sure why they are having success on the road this year but after their last win they are 3-1 away from FedEx Forum this season.
I think they can add to that here because I like the matchup of Jonas Valanciunas against KAT. He can make him work at both ends, which is not something he wants to do.
Dillon Brooks is capable of neutralizing a scorer like Malik Beasley or D’Angelo Russell. He is going to need to because the guys can light it up.
The Grizzlies bench does not have as much size now that Kyle Anderson and Brandon Clarke are starting. They do have shooter though. Greyson Allen and rookie Desmond Bane can be lethal.
Memphis is going to be better for having to play without Ja. It just kind of sucks.
Karl-Anthony Towns is back. There is no doubting the talent and production but where is it getting the team.
Since his return, the Timberwolves played the Spurs at home back to back. Towns played in the game they lost and rested in the game that they won. That might be just two data points but they kind of add to the story of his career.
In the win in the second game, Beasley and Russell combined for 51 points. They can do that on a nightly basis and even though they are not my favourite duo there is no doubt they can be effective together. They might pound the ball too much but they also seem OK taking turns.
Anthony Edwards was the top pick in the draft and he is the fourth leading scorer. He is totally unreliable though as he is not even shooting 40% on the season.
NBA Betting Trends:

- Celtics are 8.2 in last 10 head to head
- Over Under is 4-6 in team’s last 10 head to head matchups
Free Memphis Grizzlies vs. Minnesota Timberwolves NBA Prediction:
I like this spot for the Grizz, they have played well on the road and they make you work. That is not what the Timberwolves want to play against.
I am starting to wonder if fading the Wolves when Kat is in the lineup is a strategy. Not the opposite.
4* Free NBA Betting Pick: Grizzlies +2.5
Small spreads like this are basically like picking winners. I can get behind Grizzlies grabbing another road win in this spot.
