Lakers now hold a 3-1 series lead over the Blazers after getting a 20-point blow out win on Kobe Day (8/24). At one point LA even held a 40 point lead for a majority of the fourth quarter and let Portland make a comeback in garbage time.
It looks like Portland has lost Damian Lillard for the remainder of the series as their super-star suffered a knee injury in the third quarter of game four.
It looks like Portland is done for in this series as Damian has been a pivotal point of the offense in the bubble and without him, no one is going be able to run the point as CJ has a partial fracture in his back.
Los Angeles Lakers
Lebron dropped another classic game on the Blazer’s head by dropping 30 points in just 28 minutes of playing time. He shot 10 of 12 from the field and was 4 of 5 from behind the arc. James was pulling up from half-court just for fun at times in the game.
Anthony Davis had a quiet game, but it didn’t matter as the Lakers held a commanding 20-30 point lead the entire game.
Lakes had six players eclipse double figures which is a great sight for them as their role players have struggled to make baskets in the bubble.
Portland Trail Blazers
Damian Lillard suffered a knee injury on Monday and isn’t available to play in Wednesday game for the Blazer’s so they will have to turn to CJ McCollum and Carmelo Anthony to handle the workload in this one.
Jusef Nurkic led the team with 20 points in game four on 7 of 10 shooting after Dame’s injury. Terry Stots is going to need Gary Trent to step up and play Lillard’s position in the wake of his injury. I’m just not sure he’ll have the shot-making ability to keep up with the Lakers.
Carmelo has struggled in this series and needs to step up in this do or die game for the Blazers. This could also be the last game of Carmelo’s career if they don’t win and if no one picks him up again next season.
