In this game it’s a big Western Conference showdown when the Los Angeles Lakers make the trip to Talking Stick Resort Arena to take on the Phoenix Suns.

Not often are teams led by LeBron James known as good defensive teams but this Lakers team is a team really focusing on defense.

On the season the Lakers are giving up only 100.1 points per game but on the road that number goes all the way up to 107.5 per game.

In this game it’s going to be about that defense stepping up. This isn’t the same Suns team as years past and the defense is going to need to step up.

If the defense struggles in this game the Lakers could lose their second game in a row, and there might be some panic in Los Angeles.

Phoenix Suns

On the other side of this matchup is the Phoenix Suns who most expected would have a terrible year this year, but they actually look like a team that could be competitive this year in the Western Conference.

On the season they have a 6-3 record and they have won four of the last five games including a convincing win in their last game against the Brooklyn Nets. They took good care of the ball and the offense was elite putting up 138 points and that led to an easy victory.

One of the big differences for the Suns this year is point guard Ricky Rubio who has looked really good this year averaging 13.6 points, 8.6 assists, and 6.8 rebounds per game.

In this game the Suns need to find a way to slow down LeBron James and actually try to push the pace. If they can push the pace that should help them find a way to win this game.
