Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers no longer have the best record in the NBA. That belongs to red hot Utah now.
This will be their fourth back to back situation and that is not a scenario they have thrived in, just 2-1 SU and 1-2 ATS.
LeBron James has been playing a lot of minutes lately and playing great but this looks like a spot they could rest him. No news on that yet though.
Anthony Davis has not been as much of a factor of late. Over the last couple of weeks he has been under 20 points more often than not.
L.A. remains to have a great statistical profile, second in defense and 7th in offense. There is no reason to worry about the occasional hiccup.
This is a game they definitely could be looking past though as after this they are in Boston on Saturday. Nothing trumps a Celtics/Lakers matchup for excitement and both teams are good now too.
This one might be a pass if you are just wanting to not try and guess with this team right now.
Detroit Pistons
Detroit played back to back games against Philly last week and went 1-1 SU and 2-0 ATS. Then they lost to Cleveland and weren’t close. Go figure.
Blake Griffin did not play in the loss but is not on the inury report so I am guessing it was just a maintenance day for him.He is not what he once was but the Pistons still need to be at full strength if they are going to compete.
If LeBron is rested that will make things a little easier for Jerami Grant, the Pistons best player. He is scoring 24ppg and as we get deeper and deeper into the season that looks repeatable, not just a hot week or two.
It is getting enough scoring from others that is the real challenge. Wayne Ellington and Delon Wright would be a great backup backcourt but as starters they are kind of light.
