LA Lakers vs. Houston Rockets Odds & Last 5
For the past two campaigns, the Lakers have won the regular-season series, two games to one versus the Rockets.
There is a long-storied history of postseason meetings between these clubs as they’ve met on nine previous occasions. LA has won on six of those occasions, including the last time they tipped off in 2020.
To finish the season, the Rockets hit their stride, winning nine of their last 10 matches. LA had won 13 of 14 but then got hit by injuries to Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves, and the team finished 3-3 through the final six contests.
Houston is favored by 3.5 points with an over/under of 206.5 points.

LA Lakers vs. Houston Rockets bottom line:
In truth, this series should have the Rockets ahead, but they coughed up Game 3 in the closing minutes and find themselves fighting to stave off elimination.
They seemed to have figured something out, though, as they continue to cover LeBron James’ targets, forcing him to be the primary scorer. Reeves’ return is a positive, but he’s still trying to find his rhythm and remains a pylon on defense.
LA Lakers vs. Houston Rockets Basketball Betting Trends

- The Lakers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games against Houston.
- Also, Houston is 11-4 SU in its last 15 games.

- Additionally, Houston is 7-2 SU in its last 9 games played on a Friday.
Lakers Rockets Free Pick: Rockets -3.5
Here is my Lakers Rockets free pick.
Kevin Durant remains out, so the young Rockets will need to summon their best effort to extend this series. As noted above, Ime Udoka has shifted his game plan, and it has worked through the last two games.
Notably, the Thunder are sitting, resting, and looking much more like the title favorite with the exit of the Nuggets, although the Spurs could be in the mix as they’ll face an injury-riddled Wolves group.
As for this series, even with the Lakers winning several key categories in Game 5, they lost the match primarily because they struggled from the perimeter and failed to adapt to the tweaks the Rockets made.
LA is keying in on Reed Sheppard and Alperen Sengun on the defensive end, which may speak to some of the troubles the Rockets have had in the series.
Houston led Game 5 for 67% of the match and learned from their mistakes in Game 3, playing better in clutch time.
They’ll need another such effort to force Game 7, and I’m rolling with them to do just that, so take the Rockets to win and cover.

Alperen Sengun on Ime Udoka and Houston’s coaching staff:
“He’s been doing an amazing job…With him, we’re fighters. We’re warriors. When we were down 3-0, everybody was still believing. We never give up. That’s our chemistry, and it comes from them most of the time.”
