The 2020-21 NBA season opens and with that the Los Angeles Lakers will receive their rings and hoist the championship banner up into the rafters. Their opening night opponent is Staples Center co-habitants the LA Clippers.
Last season, the squads played four times with each side winning twice. The Lakers hold the all-time record having won 150 matches of the 224 played.

Although the big move was upgrading with Ibaka, the key may be how new head coach Ty Lue gets this team to focus and recognize talent alone doesn’t win titles.
Jay Scrubb is out due to foot surgery with no timeline for return.
Los Angeles Lakers
It’s always wise not to rest on your laurels and Rob Pelinka made sure the champion Lakers didn’t. Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, Rajon Rondo, and Avery Bradley all exited but Pelinka made arguable upgrades at every position.
The bigs were replaced by Marc Gasol and Montrezl Harrel while Dennis Schroder and Wesley Matthews are the new guard additions.
Talen Horlen-Tucker has been the talk of the preseason and if he keeps playing like this he may make Kyle Kuzma an easy trade option.
No doubt superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis will be load-managed this season but for ring night expect them both to be in the lineup.
