Wednesday, January 4th, the Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers will play the second of four scheduled matches. Philly won the initial October 24th contest 120-106. Indy will host the final two meetings on March 6th and 18th.
Both teams played on Monday with the Pacers defeating the Raptors 122-114 while the 76ers defeated the Pelicans 120-111.

The Cinderella Pacers continue to roll having surpassed the 20-win margin and sitting in sixth. They look more like a bonafide playoff team than several of the parity-pack teams fighting to move up the ladder.
Rick Carlisle is utilizing a guard-heavy rotation with the Pacers benefitting from having so many ball handlers on the court simultaneously to create for themselves or their teammates.
Tyrese Haliburton is leading the charge averaging 20.0 points and 10.2 assists per game. He’s shooting 48.5 percent from the field on 15.4 attempts, 40.9% from deep on 7.5 attempts, and 87.7% from the stripe on 3.3 attempts per game.
The Pacers average 115.6 points per game ranking eighth while shooting 46.3% from the field and 37.2% from the perimeter which ranks 22nd and ninth respectively.
Defensively, Indy allows 115.8 points which rank 21st while these opponents shoot 46.8% from the field and 36.6% from the perimeter ranking 12th and 26th.

Philadelphia 76ers
When Tyrese Maxey got injured there were concerns the 76ers would struggle because their bench hadn’t been performing. In hindsight that injury ended up helping Philly in numerous ways.
It removed the shackles from Tobias Harris allowing him to take on a bigger role instead of being relegated to the fourth option.
Doc Rivers replaced Maxey with De’Anthony Melton allowing the team to find a defensive groove. And perhaps more notably forced the coach to tweak his rotations and find reserves who could deliver.
Maxey has played in two games since returning and come off the bench in both outings. The big question is whether Rivers will continue to start Melton or switch back to Maxey who is a rising star and may not appreciate being relegated to the bench.
This season, the 76ers score an average of 112.1 points per game ranking 20th. Philly shoots 47.7% from the field and 38.1% from the perimeter, ranking 12th and fifth respectively.
Defense is where the 76ers make their mark allowing the second-fewest opponent points per game with 108.3 and the best perimeter defense at 33.4% while ranking eighth for opponent field goal percentage allowing opponents to shoot 46.2%.
