Saturday, December 21st, the Houston Rockets face the Phoenix Suns in the clubs third meeting of the season. In the initial meeting between the clubs on December 7th in Houston, the Rockets won 115-109.

For the second game in a row, the Rockets rallied from a double-digit deficit (16 points) to win the match as they came back to beat the Clippers in LA.

James Harden had a frustrating night trying to find free space to shoot with the Clippers aggressively defending him but still managed to register 28 points and 10 rebounds.
Russell Westbrook broke free and led the team back in the win dropping 40 points 10 rebounds and five assists playing with what looked like more energy than everyone else combined on the court.
Clint Capela scored 16 points, while each of Danuel House Jr., PJ Tucker, and Austin Rivers all scored 10 points.
Harden leads the team in scoring (38.5), assists (7.5) and steals (1.9) while Capela leads in rebounding (14.5), field goal percent (65.1) and blocks (2.0).
Eric Gordon (knee) is out until late December. Gerald Green will be out until early May after surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot. Nene (groin) remains out with an uncertain return date.

The Suns will play a back to back set this weekend with the OKC Thunder on the docket Friday and the Rockets getting the advantage of playing Phoenix in the second game.
The big news in Phoenix is the return of Deandre Ayton to the hardwood after serving a 25 game suspension for the use of PED’s. In his return, Ayton produced a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Unfortunately, that extra output wasn’t enough to get the Suns a victory as they lost their fourth game in a row.
In fairness, star Devin Booker wasn’t in the lineup and his presence could’ve made a difference. Kelly Oubre Jr (19), Frank Kaminsky (12), Elie Okobo (10), and Ty Jerome (10) each pitched in with double-digit scoring efforts.
The players who lead the team in stat categories are Devin Booker with 25.0 points and 50.7% field goal percentage. Ricky Rubio with 9.5 assists and Dario Saric with 7.5 rebounds. Hustle categories are led by Kelly Oubre Jr. with 1.4 steals and 0.9 blocks.
Four Suns are on the injured reserve list including Devin Booker who missed the last three games with a wrist contusion. Cameron Johnson (sore hip) and Tyler Johnson (illness) both missed the last two games. This trio is all listed as questionable.
Although Deandre Ayton just returned a sprained ankle will keep him out Friday in the front end of the back to back series at Oklahoma and may also render him unavailable for Saturday’s match.
