This Christmas Day match-up will see the Houston Rockets take on the tanking Golden State Warriors.
These two teams have met once this season in which the Rockets crushed the Warriors 129-112.
Houston Rockets
The Rockets played to their fourth straight win when the beat the Sacramento Kings 113-104 in their most recent game. At the moment, they are the third seed in the Western Conference, but with still so much time left, they have plenty of chances to move up.
Like always, the Rockets continue to put up a ton of points in basically every game they play. They are averaging 120.2 points per game, which gives them the second best scoring offense in the NBA. However, because they shoot so many shots, their percentages are not great. Averaging just 45.5% from the field, ranking 17th in the league. Their three-point shooting ranks 22nd in the league and they shoot an average of 35.1%.
MVP candidate, James Harden leads this team by averaging 38.6 points per game. Russell Westbrook has also been a huge contributor, averaging 23.9 points per game. Next up is Clint Capela, who averages a double-double with 14 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. Other than these three guys, they have a ton of other role players.

Like normal, Houston fails to play good defense most of the time. They allow an average of 114.4 points per game. Teams shoot 45.9% from the field and 35.6% from the three-point line.
Even against a team like the Warriors, they are susceptible of giving up a ton of points, which could pose a problem.
Golden State Warriors
The Warriors showed reliance in their most recent game, winning 113-104 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. They still only have single digit wins, but have now won two games in a row.
Even though they scored 113 against Minnesota, offense has still been a huge issue for the Warriors this season. They average 104.9 points per game, giving them the 26th ranked scoring offense in the NBA. Clearly the injuries have played a massive role, but even still, they are just not making enough shots to stay in the majority of their games.
On that note, the Warriors have the second worst shooting team in the NBA. They average 43% from the field and 32.9% from the three-point line. Their lone bright spot is their free throw shooting. As a team, they hit 81.3% from the line and rank 2nd in the league.
As for scoring, D’Angelo Russell is technically their leading scorer, averaging 22.4 points per game. Although it should be noted that Russell has played only 19 out of the 31 games this season. Alec Burks is now the second best scorer, averaging 15.9 points per game. Then they have Eric Paschall, who averages 15.2 points per game. A few other guys average double-digits as well, but overall this roster is very depleted.
The Golden State defense has also been horrendous, allowing 113.3 points per game. This is the 21st ranked scoring defense in the NBA. Teams shoot 47.3% against them and a league worst 39% from the three-point line.
The Warriors are not showing any signs of being able to stop teams and this feels like a game where they could get blown out by at least 25 points.

I expect the Rockets to pull away in this game, but I like for both teams to run up the score and I will take the over.
