Pistons vs. Magic Gameday
Game 6 of the 2026 NBA Playoffs between the top-seeded Detroit Pistons and the eighth-seeded Orlando Magic opens the day’s events at 7:00 p.m.
Orlando leads the series 3-2, but the Pistons took the last match 116-109 to stave off elimination and will look to replicate that effort tonight.
Four Pistons scored in double figures as Cade Cunningham led the way with 45 points, four rebounds, five assists, but also an uncharacteristic six turnovers.
Four Magic players scored in double digits, led by Paolo Banchero with 45 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and six turnovers. Franz Wagner was back on the DL and remains questionable for tonight.

Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic Odds & Last 5
The teams split this campaign, each winning twice, although one of those Magic wins came with most of the Pistons’ core being rested.
This is the fifth meeting between the clubs in postseason history, with Detroit holding the edge three series to one. It’s been since the Dwight Howard era that these clubs played in the postseason.
To finish the season, the Magic were flailing, hitting some major lows and seldom looking like a squad to be afraid of. They were in the mix to finish as high as fifth but fell into the Play-In and needed both opportunities to reach the playoffs.
In contrast, Detroit sewed up the top seed with ample time to spare, allowing the club to ease Cunningham back into rhythm while also taking the final few games to sit and rest their core.
The Pistons are favored by a 3.5-point spread with an over/under of 209.5 points.

The East’s eighth seed averages 115.7 points per game while its opponents average 115.1 points. In terms of dimes and boards, Orlando averages 26.5 (15th) and 43.4 (19th), respectively.

Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic bottom line:
Detroit may have figured something out in their win on Wednesday and will need to replicate that effort or grab their fishing poles.
Orlando has played better at home, but the loss of Wagner could impact how well Orlando performs given the Pistons still boast numerous defenders they can send at Banchero.
Either way, this side of the bracket looks wide open.

Pistons Magic Free Pick: Pistons -3.5
Here is my Pistons Magic free pick.
This feels like a must-win for the Magic who still have another opportunity if they lose, but the oddsmakers and pundits are likely to shift to Detroit being favored if they can get back home with the series all tied up.
Orlando outshot the Pistons from deep in Game 5 and will need another strong effort there as it’s the one place on the court they have a true advantage.
Prepare for an old fashioned, grueling mucked up series as the Magic appear to have rediscovered the defense that had pundits raving about them this past offseason while the Pistons are a top-two defensive club.
Once again, tweaks will be made by both teams, with each trying to emulate their respective successes.
I’ve been expecting the Pistons to show up and win large in a game, and this might be that game. I’m not calling for a Knicks-type effort, but Detroit is due for a large margin win.
To that end, I’ll take the Pistons to win and cover.
