Malone called the loss to the Wizards embarrassing citing the team’s recent defensive plunge and stated this was exactly the type of loss the team needed to get them dialed back into playing proper defense.

The big change the Hawks made is they’ve been jumping out to early leads and at least in the last match were able to close the game as strong as they started. Seemingly they applied the lesson from the tough loss to the Celtics in their victory over Indiana.
In the win, Trae Young led the way with 41 points. Kevin Huerter (26), Alex Len (16), and Bruno Fernando (10) were the other double-figure contributors.
