On Monday, December 19th the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves play the first of three scheduled matches. This is the front side of a baseball set that will finish on Wednesday while the Mavericks will host the final meeting on February 13th.
An injury-decimated Dallas team played in Cleveland on Saturday shocking the Cavaliers by pushing them to overtime but weren’t able to hang on, losing 99-100 while the Timberwolves defeated the Bulls 150-126 on Sunday.

The Mavericks arrived in Cleveland at 3:00 AM and entered Saturday’s match without the services of Luka Doncic, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, or Josh Green.
That’s five of the team’s core players but the Mavs refused to just hand the game over fighting to the bitter end.
Recently signed, Kemba Walker led the way for Dallas with 32 points and seven assists while Christian Wood delivered a double-double of 26 points and 14 rebounds but couldn’t hit the final shot.

Minnesota Timberwolves
The Wolves hit 23 triples in the win versus Chicago with Anthony Edwards recording season-highs of 37 points and 11 assists. Five others scored in double-figures including D’Angelo Russell with 28 points and eight assists.
Edwards is averaging 22.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. AntMan is shooting 45.3% on 17.7 attempted field goals, 36.3% on 6.9 deep balls, and 73.5% from the charity stripe on 5.2 free throws.
Minnesota hasn’t hit their stride defensively which is reflected in the stats with opponents scoring 115.9 (23rd) while shooting 46.0% (7th) and 37.2% from deep (26th).
Offensively, the Wolves score 114.2 points per game (13th), while shooting 48.5% from the field (5th) and 33.4% from the perimeter (24th).
Minnesota hadn’t submitted their injury report as of posting — it’s feasible D’Angelo Russell (knee) won’t play in a back-to-back and Naz Reid will be out because he left Sunday’s match.
Rudy Gobert (ankle) and Jordan McLaughlin (calf) are questionable for Monday. Taurean Prince (shoulder) is out until mid-December while Towns (calf) will be out until mid-January.
