In addition, Dwight Powell (11), Dorian Finney-Smith (11), and Tim Hardaway Jr. (10) were the other double-figure scorers.
Dallas lost every quarter of the game and were outrebounded by a wide margin of 53 to 27.
Things don’t get any easier for the Mavericks who face a tough trio of the Miami Heat, Houston Rockets, and Denver Nuggets after they play the Clippers.
Los Angeles Clippers
Although the Clippers hung on to beat the Nuggets it was a tense finish and one in which Clippers Nation held their collective breath when their superstar cumpled to the court.
An inadvertent elbow from teammate Serge Ibaka caught Kawhi Leonard in the face. He took eight stitches inside his mouth and there is no word on whether there were any concussion concerns or if he’ll play Sunday.
Five Clippers scored in double-figures as Paul George led the way with 23 points, nine assists, and five rebounds. Leonard registered 21 points, seven assists, and five rebounds.
Ibaka (15), Batum (13), and Ivica Zubac (12) were the other double-digit contributors.
Marcus Morris Sr., (knee) hasn’t played in either game and remains questionable for Sunday. Jay Scrubb (foot) is out indefinitely.

Conversely, the Clippers are off to a solid 2-0 start to the season and play the Wolves and Blazers next. This isn’t to say they can take their foot off the gas but by the same token it wouldn’t be surprising if Ty Lue ends up resting Leonard in this game.
