On Wednesday, the #4-seeded Cleveland Cavaliers face the top-seeded Detroit Pistons in Game 5 of their semi-finals series.
The teams are even entering this match after the Cavaliers won 112-103 in Game 4 at home.
Just three Cavs scored in double digits but it was all they needed as Donovan Mitchell exploded for 43 points while James Harden had 24 points and 11 assists. Evan Mobley rounded out the trio offering 17 points and eight rebounds.
Four Pistons registered double figures led by reserve Caris LeVert with 24 points while Cade Cunningham struggled scoring 19 points on 7 of 16 shooting.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Detroit Pistons Odds & Last 5
Head-to-head this season, the teams split their four meetings, each winning twice. Cleveland has dominated in the postseason matchups, taking three of the four previous meetings, including in 2016 when they last met up.
Unlike their opponent, I think the Cavaliers didn’t benefit from going the distance in Round 1. They have the most expensive roster in the association and were playing a depleted Raptors squad that was missing their starting point guard and top scorer (for half of the series).
Detroit sewed up the top seed with ample time to spare, allowing the club to ease Cunningham back into rhythm while also taking the final few games to sit and rest their core. They were pushed to the limit in the first round, but that challenge allowed them to dig into their defensive identity and may actually help them in this series.
The Pistons are favored by four points with an over/under of 212.5 points.

To put it bluntly these teams have the opposite trouble – – one excels at offense and lacks defensively while the other is a top notch defensive squad that struggles to deliver consistent offense.
They say defense wins championships, but at a certain point you still need to put the ball in the basket. So, the big question is whether the Pistons can score enough to win the series or if the Cavs will do just enough defensively to be the victors.

Here is my Cavaliers Pistons free pick.
In Game 4 the Cavaliers went on a 22 to 0 run and the Pistons cannot afford to allow that to happen again. Mitchell was the catalyst scoring 39 points in the third quarter tying an NBA record (Sleepy Floyd).
Detroit seemed bogged in cement as they tried to put points up and the Cavs held Cunningham under 20 which was a first for the Piston in the postseason.
Per John Schuhmann: Live-ball turnovers were an issue in the first round, especially because Toronto seemed to turn most of them almost immediately into transition points. Now the Cavs will face the team (Detroit) that averaged 10.4 steals per 100 possessions in the regular season, the most for any team in the last 13 years.
Both clubs enter anxious for the win since this is now a best of three series. Neither team has won on the road yet in the series and in fact the Cavaliers have yet to win away from home this postseason.
Meanwhile, Jalen Duren continues to look like a shadow of his regular season self and with Ausar Thompson only contributing defensively it puts a ton of pressure on Cunningham to do it all.
Still, I’ll assume J.B. Bickerstaff makes the necessary tweaks for Game 5 and I’ll take the Pistons to come out on top and cover the spread.
