Sunday, December 15th finds Eastern Conference rivals matching up as the Charlotte Hornets face the Indiana Pacers for the second time this season. In the first meeting on November 5th, the Hornets won in overtime 122-120.
Last season, the teams played three times with the Pacers winning two of the three contests. The Pacers hold the all-time record having bested the Hornets in 66 of their 111 matches
Charlotte Hornets
In the lowest-scoring game for both the Charlotte Hornets and Chicago Bulls, the visiting team came away with an 83-73 win. All five Charlotte starters scored in double figures with Devonte’ Graham leading the way with a team-high 16 points. It was the third win in a row for the Hornets
The win didn’t come easy as the Hornets coughed up a 15 point lead. For two teams who prefer the offensive end of the floor, this was more of a defensive throwback game. Granted neither team was shooting well but Charlotte outrebounded Chicago 60 to 45 and held the Bulls to 27 of 90 field goals.

Devonte’ Graham led the way with 16 points. The quintet of Miles Bridges (13), PJ Washington (13), Bismack Biyombo (12) Terry Rozier (11), and Cody Zeller (11) were the other players to contribute double-digit efforts.
Devonte’ Graham leads the team in scoring (19.9 points) and assists (7.6) while Cody Zeller tops the team rebounding (7.8) and field goal percentage (54.1) categories. Terry Rozier tops the steals category (1.2) and PJ Washington leads the block category (0.9)
Nicolas Batum missed the last two games experiencing left hand discomfort and is listed as questionable to play Sunday versus the Pacers. Marvin Williams is dealing with right knee soreness which has resulted in him missing the last four games making him questionable for Sunday.
Indiana Pacers
The Pacers came out with more focus on Friday night to capture an easier victory than the one which required overtime on November 29th which Indiana won by a single point.

This time the Pacers made sure to jump on the Hawks from the tip and built a 63-48 lead by the half. Although Indy allowed the Hawks to cut the deficit to three points entering the final frame they reapplied their defensive effort to take the match 110 -100.
All five starters plus two reserves delivered double-figure performances. Malcolm Brogdon (19 points, 12 assists) and Domantas Sabonis (12 points, 14 rebounds) each registered double-doubles.
TJ Warren (18), Doug McDermott (16), Aaron (13), Jeremy Lamb (11) and Myles Turner (11) all pitched in double-digit efforts via their well balanced offensive attack.
On the season TJ Warren leads the team in scoring (18.2) and steals (1.1) while Malcolm Brogdon is the team assist leader with 7.7 per game. Sabonis tops the ladder for rebounding (13.5) and field goal percent (51.0) while Myles Turner leads for blocks (2.2).
Although no definitive date was provided, Victor Oladipo is expected to return by month-end from his ruptured quadriceps tendon injury. JaKarr Sampson’s lower back pain continues to bother him and will keep him out again.

Free Charlotte Hornets vs. Indiana Pacers NBA Prediction: Hornets plus points
The Hornets catch some teams who underestimate their ability but the Pacers aren’t a club who’ll lose focus. That said, the spread feels too large of a margin – so Pacers to win but Hornets to cover.
