Both teams last played on Friday with the Nets defeating the Jazz 117-106 while the severely shorthanded Warriors shocked the Cavaliers 120-114.
Last season, the teams played twice with the Warriors winning both contests. The Warriors hold the all-time record having bested the Nets in 56 of their 96 matches
*Editor’s Note: Statistics and rankings are current as of this writing, Saturday evening, January 21st. Numbers may vary slightly entering games on Sunday, January 22nd.
Brooklyn Nets
It took five attempts and 48 points from Kyrie Irving but the Nets finally won for the first time since Kevin Durant went down with an MCL sprain.
Irving also grabbed 11 boards to collect a double-double plus six assists while Nic Claxton continued his strong season with 20 points and five rebounds.
Ben Simmons who got tossed in the prior game was back and while he still isn’t shooting much (3 of 7) he filled up the stat sheet with six points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
Stats
Additionally, Brooklyn allows 110.5 points per game ranking fourth best, and possesses the second-best opponent field goal percentage of 45.0%. So far, their perimeter defense is another story as foes shoot 36.4% from deep ranking 21st overall.
Also, on the positive side, Brooklyn scores 113.6 points per game (16th). Without Durant they’ve slid to second for field goal percentage, shooting 50.7%, and also rank second on the perimeter (38.6%).
T.J. Warren (illness) is probable while Durant (MCL sprain) is out.
Golden State Warriors
Despite Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green resting due to the back-to-back overtime match in Boston the Warriors defeated the Cavaliers.
It was perhaps the perfect example of a young team getting caught in a trap game and taking their opponent for granted.
Six Warriors scored in double-figures led by Jordan Poole with 32.
Stats
First thing to remember, Golden State averages 117.6 points per game which ranks fourth overall while they shoot 47.1% from the field and 37.74% from deep ranking 18th and fifth respectively.
So far, Warriors opponents score 117.9 points (26th) shooting 46.8% from the field (11th) and 36.0% from deep (16th).
Anthony Lamb (foot) is questionable. Andre Iguodala (hip) and James Wiseman (ankle) are out.

Free Brooklyn Nets vs. Golden State Warriors NBA Prediction:
The starting core of the Warriors will be well resting having been off since Wednesday. In contrast, the Nets are utilizing Kyrie Irving so much he’s having to log extra minutes and looks completely fatigued in the fourth quarter.
Seven points feels a bit rich but given the history between the Dubs and Kevin Durant (even in his absence), expect the Warriors to take this game more personally than they do most Eastern opponents.
